Hey y'all, just got back from Vegas and had an amazing night at the Rio on the 8th! I will not attempt to put a set list in order or try to do the show justice because it was that priceless! Maceo and Renato were along for the ride, and of course Mr. Hayes, Mike Phillips, and Greg Boyer. The show began around 12:25 a.m. and ended about 2:35 a.m. To give you an idea, he played (or portions of the following):

I may be missing a few so sorry - During the show, Prince said a few times that he was going to play until 5 in the morning. He also said he was going to serve pancakes (from the Dave Chapelle Prince skit). He also made a comment to the effect that he was going to be giving autographs in 3121 Jazz Cuisine after the show. Confusing, I know, because we all know how he doesn't do that.

Anyway, my boyfriend and I went to the aftershow, and it was great. I couldn't even try to give a setlist because, at that point, I was just in awe and a little drunk. I do know the band did a Miles cover, Love Rollercoaster, and they ended with Get on the Boat (instrumental). Prince played on and off with Maceo and the boys. For awhile, he sat on the edge of the stage and played guitar, only about two-three feet from the front tables. The twinz sat at a table in the corner, which Prince would join to eat with them after the show.

After everything was said and done, it looked like a number of people were shaking hands, saying hi, and hugging Prince. So I got in the makeshift line just the same. After all, Prince had said earlier that he would be giving autographs, and I had my custom made Prince Rolling Stone cover bag with me. We were the next people in line, and the bouncer stopped us and said that prince was stopping the hello's so he could eat. I looked down at his table and saw three carrots and three celery sticks - big eater, that Prince

We walked away because the bouncer was getting a little annoyed, and I decided that I needed to give one last ditch effort to get my bag signed. So I walk over by the table and bodyguard and just stand there making small talk with the guard. I notice Prince look over and he says to the twinz "Check out her bag". I figured that was my window, and I say "So, no pancakes this morning?" and he kinda looks away for a second then laughs a little and shakes his head and say uh uh. I acknowledge that I know he doesn't do autographs and ask for one anyway, and he apologizes that he can't sign my bag. He says "I do love your bag" and I see one of the twinz nod, so I thank him for an amazing show, and apologize for interrupting his meal, and he wishes me a good night.

So I met him, it was awkward, but it's cool to say that it finally happened. And yes, I looked him in the eye - I think he was more uncomfortable than I was!I guess the guy was trying to eat and was probably hoping to do so without me trying to talk to him, but whatever. I only took 15 seconds of his time
