ATTN: ALL PRINCE ROGERS NELSON FANS (& U 2, YOUR ROYAL PURPLE PAIN IN THE A$$) I was present at the "show", at the Rio, last Friday night,
November 17, 2006. $125 for "standing room only tickets, and was told to be there by 10:00 pm. 10:30 - no Prince 11:00 - no Prince 11:30 - NO Prince 12:00 - NO PRINCE So, for everyone who plans on buying a ticket, and expecting a little professionalism, from "his royal purple highness", "fuggetaboutit". After calling the box office, the next day, (my friend, who had an important class at 8:00 am, the next morning, had to leave, before Prince deigned to honor us with his presence) I spoke with Felicia, the "Box Office Supervisor", who informed me, that there were NO refunds, and GET THIS: PRINCE'S contract states that he can appear, & disappar, at will; even if he's only given a 15 minute performance. Now I don't like to go around calling a person a liar, but Felicia, I find this very difficult to believe. I then left 2 messages for Frank Nunes, "Entertainment Director", who didn't even have the decency to return my calls. Now, since my recent trip to Vegas, I noticed that Mr. Danny Gans was voted "performer of the year"; NOT PRINCE! Mr. Gans show was scheduled to start at 8:00 pm, and by 8:05 pm, Mr. Gans was on stage, working. Prince should take a page, from Mr. Gans book, because I can certainly guarantee U this: Keep your fans waiting for more than 2 hours and you're not going 2 have 2 many people, who even care to C your show. I've been a HUGE fan, since you were running about, in your underwear, trying to make it. I deserve better, and so do all the people who pay to C U perform. So, here's a suggestion: take the $125 from the ticket that my friend didn't get to use, due to your tardiness, and buy yourself a freakin' clock. I'm sure the people who pay to C U, would appreciate it, if you could find the time, to show up a little earlier. One good rip deserves another: (sung to the tune of "Kiss") EVERYBODY SING! (Prince you know the tune.... "you don't have to be over 2 hours late, 2 turn me on.... I just need your show 2 start, diva... before it's dawn. You don't need experience 2 turn me out..... Just open your show earlier, and I'll shut my mouth! You don't have to be hot, 2 be my FAV.... You don't have 2 B late, to make me RAVE; Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with, I just want you to start your show, without the tardiness". Thanx, I'm done here.

looks like someone didn't read any of the reviews or news about the shows before they went.....go figure

I waited 5 HOURS for Bootsy Collins once. He wasn't even in the country by the time we were inside the venue, that's how late he was.
But was it worth it? ..was HE worth it? Hell yeah - it was one of the most fun nights out I've ever had with friends, and we all came away with smiles that felt bigger than our faces.

If you've been following him as long as you claim then you should know by now he never starts a show on time, even "newbies" know that much.

This is what happens when people don't read the "additional information" before purchasing. It simply states at Ticketmaster:
"IMPORTANT : Doors open at 10:00pm Prince does not have a scheduled time that he will perform." It also states on Ticketmaster: ".....DRS OPEN @ 10PM" It never stated on Ticketmaster that Prince would or will perform at 10:00pm, and with all the reviews here on the ORG referencing about what time Prince starts to perform, it's amazing how the author of this thread missed this information [Edited 11/25/06 22:01pm]

I'm sorry your experience wasn't what you would have liked to be. However, it seems that maybe you missed some important info regarding start times/door opening times. If you ever want to go see him again, check this site first! There are always reviews posted and you can always ask questions about what to expect. Sorry you had a bad time. Hope the next one is better!

Then U should have expected this. Most shows i have attended Prince very rarely comes out anything less then 2 hours into the show.

Member tickets aren't gone. Us NPGMC members are getting e-mails for presale tickets to the Vegas shows. Who wants to sit down at a Prince show??? (I realize some may have health problems that require you to do that, I'm not referring to you) Just don't wear some sloppy ass looking jeans! Plus, apparently people haven't been following the dress code anyway. Don't be frustrated until you have all the info! Enjoy Prince for what he gives us--some of the best music and art of the last 2 decades!!

Looks like somebody needs to get with the program -- and it ain't Prince. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

lmao EXACTLY!!!! AND who cares about Mr. Gans?? who da heck is Mr Gans anyways??. ..also what Prince is doing is normal for popular clubs, if youve gone to clubs with performing acts in the past years alot of times they say doors open at such and such, and the performing act usually doesn't perform till 2-3 hours later sometimes on an annouced time, sometimes not...so Prince is not pulling some weird scam on you AT ALL

Your friend and you went to a club whose doors open at 10 at night and she had a course the next day at 8 am. Even if he had started at 10 sharp, your friend would still be home past midnight. It just sounds like you took a chance he would start earlier than usual and he didn't.

It sounds as though you really didn't have time to go to the show that night. If you don't have time to do something and relax and enjoy your time just skip it and go to bed, don't be angry that Prince didn't perform until 12:15. Just about every Prince fan knows he performs late, but hey he is worth it and I have yet to be dissapointed in waiting for a live performance. Before attending any event Prince show or not you should really ensure that you have the time to be there.

In closing, everything 2elijah posted in red was right on the Ticketmaster website...remember, reading is fundamental.
