I’m just now returning from Las Vegas, NV where I enjoyed the performance of a life time by none other than His Purpleness. Yes, Prince, live and up close. It was an amazing performance. At the Rio in Las Vegas on a Saturday night inside his club 3121. The screens arranged around the wall play songs of a later time, showed the old soul train where people had on bell bottoms with fro’s and air fro puffs and finally when he was ready to make his appearance all the screens simultaneously displayed his symbol as it was rotating then the purple curtain came up! And he was in all his glory and dressed to the 10th power! He played a lot of his new music and it was excellent. He dabbled in a few of his older songs too. The older songs brought tears to my eyes. He is a musical genius. It was standing room only. Not because there were no seats but because everyone were on their feet. This was a performance! He even changed outfits for several songs. I kept the ticket stub, but I also got another unsuspected surprise. I got one of his ivory guitar picks that have his symbol in purple on the front of it and I touched his hand. To me this was amazing! He is a beautiful man. Not to mention is horn player, Mr. Mike Turner, knows how to make a horn speak words. And his two female background singers/dancers were doing their thang too. Club 3121 inside the Rio in Las Vegas is the place to be on a Saturday night. On November 17, I was also at the Rio and I ran into Magic Johnson and his wife Cookie as well. Cookie is a beautiful woman. I’m not sure if they were there for the show or some other event.
