Where did you stay in Vegas???

Hey guys,

My sister and I are organizing our trip to Vegas for the Saturday, Dec. 9th show. Where is a good place to stay? Did anyone stay at the Rio? How far is the Rio from the airport? I've never been to Vegas, so all suggestions are welcome.

I'm going to see PRINCE in Vegas!!! excited excited excited

Rio is far away from the strip. I suggest you to stay if you can afford it to hotels like the mirage, treasure, MGM etc... cause there is a lot of things to see and do in vegas, shopping is great at the Alladin, see the foutain at the bellagio and lot and lot of great things..... enjoy Vegas, I hope to go back soon and see Prince there

My lone response! biggrin Thank you for the input. However, I already made my reservation at the Rio. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the strip, so I will make use of it. Thanks again. All tips are welcome. I'll be there on a Friday and Saturday, so I plan to get out during the day and see Prince at night!!

I stayed at the Super 8. It's a mile and a half from the Rio. It was the only hotel open (in my price range). Lots of people last night couldn't get rooms cuz the city was sold out, so I guess I was lucky.

Such a great show too! Here's a word of advice, if you don't want to stand in line, you can pick up your ticket at the Penn and Teller box office at the Rio. I got there at 8:30 and there was a line a mile long. I didn't want to wait, so I went into 3121 Restaurant to eat first. A guy there told me I could go get my ticket at the other box office. I walked over there and there was no wait at all. It's only open until 9:30 though. I didn't go in the club until the line was almost gone and the guy at the door gave me my wristband. I didn't get a green one though, but it didn't matter because there was so much room. I stayed about 30 feet back and danced all night. Snuck up to the front during last song. I wish I was there again tonight!!!!!

Can you pick them up from the Penn and Teller Box office if you are getting the NPGMC presale tickets too?

I'd take purplekisses suggestion to find a really good bargain.

But since my wife and I hadn't been out in a while, I decided to give her "the business".

We stayed at the JW Marriott...

...which is about 10 miles off The Strip http://marriott.com/prope...page/LASJW

A) At the time I was searching for hotels, most of the lesser name hotels on The Strip were charging around $300 a night.
We got the Marriott for $179.

B) Large rooms...

...with a great view.

C) Large marble bathrooms...

...with double vanity, a deep-soaking whirlpool tub and a separate enclosed shower.

D) Nearby...

...Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

E) Spa...

...After a night of Prince at Club 3121 drink dancing jig dead , you might need it.

E) And best of all when you enter the hotel, you don't get the typical Vegas casino cacophony. headache
As a matter of fact, I don't remember seeing a single slot machine.

It only took us about 10-15 minutes to drive (no surface street traffic) from the hotel to The Rio.
The freeway off-ramp practically drops you off at The Rio's parking lot.

If you plan on being there a few days and feel like treating yourself to a Lover's Getaway kisses, i'd highly recommend the JW Marriott.

Yes, you can, but I am not sure if you can get your green wrist band. I didn't go into the club until after 11 and they just gave me a purple one. If you want to go early and wait in line to get in first with your green band, you should probably just get your tickets at the 3121 box office. If you don't care if you are not right in front (everywhere is close!) just pick them up and Penn and Teller. Good Luck! Let me know what happens. Heidi

We stayed at the imperial palace. it was on the strip across from cesars fourm.
129 a night and less than a 10 buck taxi ride. it was better than paying the 494 a night at the rio. not bad if ur only sleepin and showering in ur room.

About how much was the rooms per night at the Super 8? I will proably stay there as well because I know I can't afford $300 per night to sleep and shower.

We stayed at Motel 6 on saturday for around 90 dolla's. We drove so it was easy to get around town. We then staYed at the MGM on sunday for $99 which wasn't bad considering we got a top flight room & being that it was going for $450 the previous night we were stoked.

What is going on with these wristbands? What do they mean? When I go, I want to aim for the green?
