considering the ad came out a few days ago and there has been little to no promotion....and it is on a wednesday.....i'm not surprised that it is free.....but i hope future shows get more promotion or more advance notice

The casino is always full of people, I'm sure when they find out there's a free concert going on tonight with Chaka Khan they'll pack in. People are always looking for something to do in Vegas anyway. [Edited 11/15/06 17:06pm]

Just got back and in case anyone cares, she put on a good show. I guess she is not what she used to be and I will leave it at that. Ten people in the band and I'm wondering if anyone has told her that she can't really sing that well anymore. Great back-up singers though!(3 of them.) The show sold out. I was wondering how they were going to work the free admission thing after selling real tickets for a few days. Well, they pulled it off well - giving out free tickets to those in line that said no when asked if they had reservations already. Those that said yes went on through to the box office. It was more crowded than the Prince shows actually and a great way to show off the new club. Not sure if Prince was there but it didn't feel like it so I left early. The highlight for me was watching people dance before the show. Oh yeah, her outfit was not flattering. Especially noticable when they put her up on the big screen monitors. One new thing I noticed is a very nice digital marquee in front of the club right above the entrance. Must have cost a lot!
