Asking for Romantic Advice.....

OK, I'm asking you guys and mostly girls for a little help. August 7th is my 15th anniversary and I'm trying to think of something that would knock my wife's socks off. We will have the entire week off together without our kids. I'm trying to think of something out of the norm in a way of romance and gift giving. I would like to keep it under a grand and she isn't really into jewelry. If it helps for a visual of what's available to me, I live in Houston, TX, USA which is the 4th largest city. So if you can think of it, we might have it. Also, I'm interested in any and all romantic scenarios.

Example, three years ago I called my wife at work and told her to go home and get dolled up and be ready at 5 PM on the dot and ask no questions. I had taken my girls to the baby sister, rented a room in the Hilton overlooking Clear Lake across from NASA, rented a brand new luxury car, sent a dozen roses to her job that morning and made dinner reservations at a swank candle lit restaurant. I got dressed at the hotel and picked her up by ringing the door bell and handing her a single rose. It was the perfect magical evening. Needless to say, I haven't thought of anything to top that and I don't want to do the same thing again. It wouldn't be the same.

So any suggestions?

eek (I hate editing, but mispelled words are such a distraction.)

most women love poetry...
If U are not a writer at heart or are unable 2 write an ode in her honor, pick a couple of poetry books at the library, and copy a couple that remind U the most of her...
Then take her on a horse carriage accross the cities at night (if U can find any)
with a bottle of wine get on one knee and recite her the poetry, make sure to tell her how much the verses reminded U of your love or how she makes U feel everyday...

That or get a bank loan and take her on a trip 2 the most romantic europeen cities, paris, Venice, Amsterdam, Vienna...
smile))

Since you have a whole week off without your kids, do something that will last more than one evening. I think a romantic getaway is a fantastic idea, somewhere special that's somewhat local. (Bed & breakfast? I don't know Texas very well.)

Plan romantic things each night - but stuff that won't be too expensive, as you want to keep this under a grand. Celebrating the past is also never a bad idea. smile

Good luck, and congratulations!
I mean, like, where is the sun?

Your wife is a Leo and boy are you lucky to have her as your wife. smile I do like Johnny's ideas of poetry, horse drawn carriage ride, both are very romantic. I would like to add that one of the evenings that both of you just stay at home and you pamper her. Order a gourmet meal with candlelight, watch a romantic movie together,(something you as a man can bare to watch)lol, and then lead her by rose petals to a bathtub full of rose scented water. Massage her temples, neck, gently kiss her and let nature take it's course. Don't forget to whisper gently into her ear how much you love her and what she means to you. I'm sure she will be very receptive after all of that.

If you need help writing poetry org note me, I'll help you out because I can tell how much you love her since you want to make this a very special week for her. awww 2 sweet

Hey, I'm in Houston also.

You know they have those little dinner cruises that sail from Clear Lake down to Galveston. You can try that. Or how about just renting one of those beach Houses down there. You can get a nice sized one from $250-$300 for 3 days. You can make it very romantic.Besides, there is nothing like waking up and walking out on the beach.

Before you all partake on one of your romantic journey's, you can send her to a spa for a couple hours. There is a black owned spa in West Univerity called, "The Root of You" that have great 3 hour specials (There is no significance to it being black owned, I just like to promote black business in the area). They have a website if you want to check it out.

You can also have a Midnight Picnic at the WaterWall, or at the Park on Allen Parkway with the Nightime Skyline in the background. All you need is a few Citrinella Candels (for the Mosquitos), a bottle of wine, some finger sandwiches, some cheese, and some strawberries and cream. Although they turn the Water off at the Waterwall at a certain time of night, it is still romantic. The area by the Swings at Tinsley park on Allen Parkway is lit up pretty well so you may not be able to get TOO romantic.

The Bed and Breakfast Idea is a pretty good one. There are some great one's in the Montrose Area. Also I think there are a couple of good one's in the Heights.

That's all for now.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

subyduby

remember the Simpsons episode where Apu tries to surprise his wife all week long for valentine's day?!! u should do something like that.

here is what i would do in my fantansy:!

1.go to a small, fancy and i mean FANCY inn.
bathe there and be served delicies.
go to the jacuzzi and have sweet music be played, go and sit right on ur hubby, kissing, etc.

2. go to bed wearing only bath-robes made of silk and do the deed.

3.go out on walks around a beautiful garden or take a horseride in a carriage around the garden. and talk.

4. surprise her with diamonds and pearls and take her to the balcony making her look at the stars and whisper to her what u feel about her, take ideas from poetries, movies, etc.

5.order a private FANCY dinner and drink poison.

6. sit by the fire-side and remember all of your experiences with ur love and tell each other stories of the past and what u want with her in the future.

7. take a shower with her and do the deed.
