i wasn't knocking you playa--you said you had an okay time, but was expecting more--the mood up here in DC and Philly was different--apparently we felt it more than you did--or you got a lesser caliber show than we did. either way, we're not mad up here, and NOBODY up here walked out disappointed. as far as covers, you call it lazy, i call it smart. for example, Erykah Badu's live CD Baduizm is chock full of cover songs, mixed with some of her own songs--and it works! when you are an unproven commodity, you can't just get up there and sing 15 songs nobody has ever heard of--that wouldn't work for Prince, and it damn sure wouldn't work for Tamar. So if you can get the crowd into the set by singing some old school songs that the majority of them know already, and you do a really good job on them as Tamar did, then that's a big bonus. I did notice that you wished Prince had played "something else" from Batman--IT WASN'T HIS SHOW! sounds like you went to see a Prince-heavy show and that's not what you got--and the fact that you're on the ORG and probably knew this going into the show (how many identical set lists have been posted already?)..well, it sounds like maybe you were hoping for a 3121 set and didn't get it.
