My Take... of TAMAR featuring PRINCE

I consider myself a fan and nothing more/nothing less. Although some would characterize fan as short for fanatic, that's not my view, it's much broader than that type tunnel vision. While I'm a supporter for sure I consider my comments more of an objective observation based on my years as a fan.

My Take.....

Imagine musical show... Tina Turner and the Rockets with a truly tamed Prince on guitar taking some solos and you got the visual of the Chicago show. For many newer prince enthusiasts his presence & guitar solo's were enough. The singer he's promoting TAMAR is the real deal, that said, she's going to need some hella songs of her own along with her extraordinary performance and singing ability to be a contender in the market these days. They actual did several covers (older music) huh? I enjoyed the show but left a bit unsatisfied cause I've come to expect more. Hope they get beyond that, she could be a huge success hooked up with him if they get the right creative team around her and promote all her talent right.

As for Prince himself, well me being an older prince cat I am looking for that ultimate Prince high that you can only get when he is really putting on a real ( the best and nothing less) show for the fans. Simply put when the show was as exciting as the music. When You told your friends ...hey you GOTTA check out this Prince album or you GOTTA go to the Prince concert. I mean it was important someone else knew and could feel what you were feeling. The excitement and anticipation was like you where about to have sex or something after being thoroughly seduced.... I mean it was real, like oh S...T its bout to go down....I can't wait. We were seduced by the music so to speak and that would draw us to the concerts to freely allow ourselves to be engaged in what I guess could be described as a sort of musical ecstasy. Leaving fullfilled and satisfied beyond measure. If you were depressed you were cured for at least 3-6 months after the concert...for real.

Those days might be over, not sure, cause Musicology at least for to me was good but more of a band stage performance than an actual real show...you know with the props, visual themes/sets, lights, effects, wardrobes, and him jumping round on different instruments, thats the prince high I'm looking for like crack, I need that fix. That's part of the Prince addiction. If dude ain't careful he gone send me into recovery. I'll be just buying albums, but I hope not. Maybe 3121 will have a tour that gives us/me that. I need a hit. Like James Brown HIT ME. Uh... Uh.... Hey Hey Hey..Heyiiiooouuuuaahhhhh

Peace

This was so true for me in 2004 when I attended as manyas 9 shows. My depression (many stresses) was put on the back burner for a whole year!

I agree. Prince can cure depression.
I was in a horrible relationship and I started watching PR back-to-back every day and listening to nothing but Prince music.
I was soon able to get rid of that 'zero' and stay man-less for a good amount of time while I healed emotionally.
If it weren't for Prince, I would have gotten some rotten rebound-guy and the cycle would've continued.
Thank you Prince!

I agree too. Prince's music can cure depression, bitterness, lack of concentration,...uhm. When I listen to him back to back, I even become talkative and express a sense of humor I never thought I had.
