I love hearing the man play guitar, but not for a protege' for 90 minutes. She was actually really good and it was a very fun show and I haven't seen Prince have so much fun at a show in ages. I felt that it was worth teh $31 for members tickets (plus the seats rocked). I thought of another little detail that was kind of fun. Kirk's daughter was again brought up to dance on stage and she was awesome (she was one of the little girls on the Rave DVD). There was also two other little kids that were pretty cute and good as well. Also nobody has mentined the fact when that this lady or man (I'm not really sure and I don't want to make crossdressing references if they weren't but..) was climbing on stage his/her pants fell all the way down as they were climbing up. Prince said, "We didn't want to know you that well". It was hilarous.

Good morning orgers!
The Tamar/Prince show was really great! I just really can't put into words how elated I felt watching Prince play guitar and how lucky I felt to be able to see him live!!! Basicaly my friend and I got there and a guy handed us something for Tamar's aftershow at Paisley...I was like can we please go there!!!! I'd never been to Paisley Park before so I really was trying to convince my friend. She was like I'll think about it. She was kinda steamed at Prince in a way cuz she used to work for this catering company and some of his band members ordered fried chicken and Prince wouldn't let them into Paisley because he didn't want meat in the building so she had to wait in her car in the freezing winter or something....ummm I really I don't know the whole story but she really didn't want to go out there. Looks like Miss 666 had to work some of her magic and turn on the charm to try to convince her! Anyway we were six rows back!!! Omg they were really excellent seats. I was shocked there was a bar! I know Prince doesn't really like that stuff so I was like "Oh!" The female DJ I think it was the lady in the Black Sweat video was spinning records when we got there. She played alot of fun old school jams. She played some Time tunes too! YAY! Rick James, Mary Jane girls, ect!!! My favorite type of music. Oh and she did play Black Sweat too. Anyway, Prince came out and my first thought really was "OMG he's not that short!" Really I guess he was short for a man but I don't know, I guess I was expecting him to be alot shorter. He really had a really nice body. And I mean really!!! Oh! Sorry! On to the music!!! Tamar can REALLY sing! And the twins were there looking sexy as always! They played some songs that were unframiliar to me so I'm guessing it was off of Tamar's new album? Nice songs. They did a cover of Mel'isa Morgan's Love Changes and my mouth fell open!!!! That brought me right back to when I was a kid listening to it on cassette with my mother singing and getting down! Tamar really did that song justice! I know some hardcore mpls fans were disapointed that Prince didn't take center stage but Tamar was really entertaing. I don't know if all her songs are exactly my style but hearing her sing really was fun. They pulled this guy onstage and the twins and Tamar started dancing and singing around him. The girls went into a particular sexy number and Prince was like "Uh oh ladies cover your man's eyes!" Let's see what eles....hmmm..ohh...Prince did pull people onstage to dance. Three little girls were there onstage dancing around...I said something to my friend like Wow! It's funny those girls are probably too young to appreciate how great that opportunity is! This one guy got onstage and I think his pants started coming down a little? I think Prince said something like "The bar is now closed" And people laughed. It seemed really relaxed and whoever wanted to go onstage could. Prince was like "Who ain't scared. Come on!" I think they were playing "Play that funky music" and Tamar was trying to find someone who knew the words. Prince finnished an excellent guitar solo but I had to pee really bad so I had to sneek out of there and go to the bathroom. So my friend and I visted the ladies room and got another glass of wine. I didn't want to drink to much during the preformance cuz I wanted to really experience Prince's music pure if that makes any sense. I had a tiny buzz by the end of it. So then it was over and my friend and I went over to Farienhiet. We walked there from the orpheaum and it was kinda cold but oh well. We had a few drinks there and I finnaly conviced her to go out to Paisley. So she called the car and we were going to Paisley! YAY! I was feeling tore up by the time I got there. Grr kinda mad at myself about that but oh well! So we got there and the women's bathroom smelled soooo good. Like vanilla insence or something. I'd never been there before so I was kinda just taking it all in. They had some 3121 merchandice there. I got to see MICHAEL BLAND!!!! OMG!!!!! I can't belive he was there!!!!! We really didn't stay long. I really wanted to stay and see Prince preform but my girl was getting antsy and wanted to leave. We only stayed for an hour and I didn't get to see Prince play. So we went back into downtown and she's like "Let's go to Ricks for last call".That is where we work so I was like Ok I guess. I didn't particularly want to go there I remember wishing I was still at Paisley. So we were there and I did get to see an old buddy I haven't seen in a while. Actually someone Prince knows too but that's all I am gonna say. It was nice talking to him. He was like "OH girl I knew you'd be at the show!!" Hahah...he asked me "So how was his girl Tamar?" I was like "Amazing! Girl can sing!" But I was kinda drunk and looking around like "WHY AM I AT RICK'S???? I HATE THIS PLACE!!!!" So I got in a cab and left. I got home and I excitedly told my boyfriend all about it. He was like "Prince was having an afterparty??? Why aren't you there!!!???" I was like "I don't know. I really wanted to see him play but....you know how friends can be" So I climed in bed and slept. It was a really fun night. I'm glad I got to see Prince play! I'm glad I got to go to Paisley Park! Prince is a very handsome man and his talent is out of this world. He looks even better than he does in the pictures that I have been drooling over for the past...oh...since 1992. Seriously guys who say he is gay and gross and this and that are really just jelouse because he is facinating and VERY VERY VERY handsome!!! Way more handsome than his photos. YAY! I really don't know what eles to say. I'm just so so so so greatful to see him live.

The only time I had someone with me ready to roll was in Las Vegas for the show that ended up on the dvd. My husband actually just went for it. He complained a little about all the waiting and his back was killing him by the time the afterparty came around, so we didn't push for front row, but he hung in there the whole time with me and it was great having him there. I'm firmly planted in denial

Alright, time for me to make some sense of last night. I will try to not be too repetitious.
Violett picked me and my bf up and we met the rest of our group at a bar by the theater. 2 of the folks that joined us were embarking on their first Princey Venture. So, they were quite shocked to see ME at a bar, ordering a coke. That’s right, a COKE with no rum or vodka or anything in it. They thought the world was ending initially, but as my excitement grew I think they figured out it was better for me to be drink-free going into the show. We headed over to the theater at 8 and stood around for a bit trying to find folks from here with no luck. We also did not see any of the afterparty flyers around. Vi and I immediately hit the merch table. They were already out of all the larger sized hoodies so I thought I was out of luck. Vi was able to fit into a medium so she bought that. After looking fammishly upset, the vendor lady finally offered to hold the display hoodie for me as it was an XL. The night was back on track. My bf and I then made our way to our seats. As Lovemachine noted, it was a small fiasco. The pit is not like other rows with stationary chairs. So, it’s kinda hard to figure out which seat is which. Well, it took 4 ushers and eventually a manager to figure out that they had 1 too few seats in our row. They moved a chair and shuffled people and we were able to sit finally. Not that I was worried AT ALL. I could barely speak as I was too excited and all “omg, I can basically TOUCH the stage from here!” The confusion was not only with our seats. When HiinEnkelte and friend arrived, they went through the same process. 1st or second row doesn’t really matter in the pit. But if SOMEONE had to be in front of me, I’m glad it was him! So, the show basically started on time. Shock of all shocks. Our little Princey came on stage looking fine as hell. Dressed basically in black he was rocking it. I loved the first outfit the most: dressy black flares, a nice black coat with a grayish/silver shirt underneath- with a HUGE collar and open to show off some chest sexiness. Yummm. FYI- he was wearing heels. I guess the hip is better, heh heh. The first part of the show was interesting. I kept trying to remind myself to watch Tamar and not Prince. Prince did his part too, trying to throw attention to Tamar by gestures, head jerks, priceless expressions, etc. At some point though, Tamar finally grabbed me and I was just naturally pulled in. The crowd response was initially mixed. The main floor stood through the whole show. I don’t know if that was due to the majority of floor being NPGMC folks or if it was a domino effect since us bitches in the pit would not sit down. Regardless, fun was being had. The majority of the balcony, though, seemed confused by what was happening and stayed seated. That all changed once they kicked into the rockin dance party. The songs have been noted already but as they worked through the batch of covers and PARTYMAN, the balcony gave in and it looked like the whole place was on their feet again. I was partial to Prince’s first outfit. He looked fine all nite, but just not as fine after the change. The 2nd outfit was basically the same, just without the silvery shirt and with a brown vest instead. Other than the dance party, my highlights included “Milk and Honey” (I’m singing this in my head still!), her cover of Not Gon’ Cry and any and all of Prince’s amazing guitar breaks. We’ve said this already, but DAMN the kid was R.O.C.K.I.N.G. Oh yeah, I also loved when Tamar played all “crazy” near the end of the show, holding the knife and chit. I initially thought the interaction with Tamar and “the twins” (hey if Prince calls ‘em that I ain’t gonna bother with names, lol) was cheesy and over the top. Until I realized that was the point and I was then TOTALLY entertained. Then, all too quickly it was over. But it was for the best, I had sweated through my shirt by this point. It was cool when the lights came up and the majority of the theater just stayed put, screaming their voices away, wanting more. It kinda worked, as the DJ lady came back on-stage and dropped Beautiful, Loved and Blessed on the record player to try and pacify us. So, that was that. I already noted that I did NOT go down to Paisley. It sounds like it was alright, but I’ve yet to read anything that makes me hate myself for not going. As for our friends on their first Princey venture. They LOVED it. They thought Tamar was excellent and were all “you must take me to a real Prince show soon.” They also both kept asking when Tamar’s CD was coming out. Not a scientific study or anything, but it’s SOME proof that what Prince was attempting was successful regardless of a person’s level of famdom. Anywho, it was a FAMtastic night. Bring on 3121, I am ready. [Edited 2/26/06 11:14am]

Tamar and the Twins really did put on a great show. And as usual Prince gave us another fabulous, absolutely breathtaking nite with the sounds coming from his guitar. His last guitar solo actually left me crying it was so soulful and beautiful. There was a lot of excitement and anticipation as we left, hoping he'd play at the afterparty.
We didn't have to wait long to get in and walking into the Love4OneAnother room i noticed this BIG beautiful bouquet of flowers sitting there. Leave it to Prince to make us feel right at home and welcome. The room was alive with people dancing and talking, waiting and hoping that Prince would play. The band was great and you could feel Prince's influence all around the stage. They kept it moving til 3am. We were still hoping to see Prince because the big lights didn't come on when the band members left and gathered their gear. But then a few minutes later, the big lights came on and we knew it was time to go. But even without a performance at the Park, Prince gave us another nite of fantastic funk and fun. Thank You Prince You are the very Best!!! [Edited 2/26/06 13:58pm]

I'm jus' sayin', I don't let anyone get in the way of me gettin' it all. [Edited 2/26/06 9:58am] Seriously! I just can't find someone who is as into Prince as I am! WE'RE EVERYWHERE! I mainly go alone even tho I don't know how to get to most of these places (my Prince navigating system kicks in). Once I'm there, the people that I know from other events are usually there so it's not like I'm totally alone, just on the ride home. When the music hit you know she DEFINATLY didn't FEEL alone.

"Three little girls were there onstage dancing around...I said something to my friend like Wow! It's funny those girls are probably too young to appreciate how great that opportunity is!"
I am the Daddy of the girl up there wearing the Most Beautiful Girl In The World t-shirt, and I can tell you in all honesty she knows what an amazing opportunity she was part of, and she truly appreciates it. Not only was it her first Prince concert, it was her 7th b-day. She's been a Prince fan from when she was just a fetus, being force fed his music by her Daddy since conception, lol. The show was amazing! Tamar has a great voice, great stage presence, and can flat out entertain. P's work on guitar and Partyman were awesome, as was being there for him doing a Michael Jackson cover!! Never thought I'd see that in P's lifetime, lol. If ANYONE got pics (I know some of you snuck in your camera phones) and got pics of the girls dancing on stage, may I please ask for your kindness in sharing so my little Angel can have pics as a keepsake of her unbelievable 7th birthday?!
