Any Reports ON THE FILLMORE SHOW PEOPLE? And is he gonna do NYC?

It was a good show. Seeing Prince in the sideman role was strange and cool at the same time. Great guitar work, of course.
Tamar can sing. The twins can't, but they look good. My highlight, Prince playing Don't Stop Till You Get Enough. More tomorrow, I'm going to bed. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

Alright the show was about 1.5 hours. Sold out House of about 2000-ish... Tamar can sing, but she doesn't have enough personality in her voice to sing the kind of material she was singing. Which is old soul and R+B music. Not very spectacular overall. Had a hard time figuring out 'why' Prince put this all together. Prrince was AWSOME on his RYTHM guitar stuff. Special mention should be madde, however, of the absolutely FANTASTIC chick drummer. She was TEARING IT UP!! I LOVED her... More Tomorrow I gotta sleep

show was about 1hour 45 minutes Prince did PARTYMAN., Tamar did a version of Janet Jackson`s What have you done for me lately as some other covers. Also did her NEW single at the end with the BLESS in the title which I originally thought was a PRINCE sung tune. Overall it was a cool show but was surprised Prince did not preview his new stuff.

That doesn't surprise me...the show was about Tamar not Prince.

I also remember them playing Rock Steady. The Fillmore's capacity is 1200, not 2000. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

i had a great time..i went expecting a tamar show, not a prince show..
there more i think about it, it was kind of cool to just focus on prince and watch him play rather than scream and dance to all of his hits for once.... we had a great time....

GREAT show! Wasn't impressed w/ Tamar's vocals initially (w/ songs where she's just kind of talk-singing) but when she's belting it out she can really sing. Cool shit, they also did Rock Steady, Stay w/ Me Baby, When a Man Loves A Woman, lots of old shit - I still wish he'd drop the Sly stuff
He said something to one of the twins & she kinda rolled her eyes as he walked away - they may not be up there for long

she couldn't mix for shit true but at least she picked some good tunes to dance to... i am one of those oldtimers who had to deal with philip glass music before the shows

Yeah, I saw that too, but there was so much play activity going on that I couldn't tell if it was staged or not. My first thought was serious, then I thought oooh no she didn't just roll her eyes and throw off body language like a bratty teenager would...that's when I thought well maybe it's part of the act.

I was right in front of P the whole nite, it was staged all the way. The disconnect was trying to hear the lyrics to know the context of all the facial expressions. It would be easy to see someone think it was legitimate.

yep, staged
the sound mix was so fuxxing terrible that it was hard to hear those twins... not that a perfect mix would have made them sing any better but still... that tamar needs to dump the hooplah... dump the twins and bring in a horn section
