schools in!!
what a gig, Maceo and the band were on form and laying down a serious funk education.
highlights of the gig for me were Maceo's solo morphing into the outro of hey jude, a heavy rendition of baby knows, pass the peas (of course), and schools in. the whole show was so tight, so heavy, so funky and getting to see so many heroes of mine sharing one stage, and for the first time being so close to them was an amazing experience.
my legs are aching, my hands are sore and my neck muscle of funk was givin a real beating!
managed to speak to Morris Hayes afterwards and he told me prince is cooking up something big and he will hit the uk with it! i told him i was gutted about not catching musicology and he said "he'll hit that over here too"
so i got to see Maceo, i got to speak with Mr Hayes and i was told prince is coming soon. needless to say im still smiling!!
