What are P's "favorite" cities to perform in? I know there must be some cities that he "lets loose" in more than others. Or maybe he has mentioned something himself? Does he have an opinion on NY vs. LA?

Do you think he favours someone?
I know he had the tickets for the to be televised LOVESEXY show on sale in Holland instead of Germany, where it was taped. And when shows went awry (Nudetour) he always came back to make up. And let's not forget Sign "O" The Times. Where was it taped again? Oh yeah; Holland. And in how many cities did he perform more than one aftershow? I dunno EVERYTHING about dates (when and where) but he played Paradiso TWICE. Uhm...

Wouldn't the obvious answer to this question be Chanhassen?
But I also think Prince paticularly enjoys playing in Holland, London, Chicago, Detroit, and New York.

I think he feels most comfortable in Chicago for some reason. I saw him at the Park West the day he did the Oprah special, and he was in the best mood i've ever seen him in. I think he's grown to like smaller venues too.

Sorry "blueprince", but Toronto is his second home!

Eye would say the San Fransico bay area, New York and Minneapolis.

Eye would say in his homestate of Minneapolis. If he did not like Minnesota, he would have moved Paisley Park somewheres else. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

well, in the 80's it was definitely minneapolis, chicago, and detroit, but in the 90's, atlanta has joined the list and probably surpassed both chicago and detroit. the criteria i base that on is how many concerts he plays. there was a fairly ridiculous thread about 2-3 months ago about how "certain cities get all the perks". and atlanta, wash d.c., and chicago get a lot of performances and aftershows. atlanta has gotten 10 concerts and 3 aftershows in the last 6 1/2 years. i don't know the stats for other cities. ------------------------------------------------

What about the 18 night run he did at Wembley Arena, London in the summer of 1990? Prince says that us Brits understand him more. Or something like that.

I would imagine most NYC shows are tight if not just due to the fact that so many special guests could appear. The NYC aftershow for the ONA tour was off the hook!!!
