Taken from another thread...by me.
Chene Park was loads of fun on Fri night. Sheila E opened for The Time. She came out in a tight white suit w/black shirt and shades. She's wearing her hair long, black and wavy these days and obviously working out...very sexy! She had Eric Leeds playing Sax and Kat Dyson playing guitar for her band. I was very surprised to hear so many Prince songs in her set... America (...and the bomb goes BOOM), Kiss (complete with audience member singing just like Prince), Alphabet St (complete with her rap), Girls & Boys (Leeds on Sax), 17 Days (Very Funky!) and When Doves Cry. She walked the aisles meeting audience members. When she walked towards us, my 10 yr old son walked down to shake her hand. Sheila put her arm around him, placed the mic in his face and they sang ...AND THE BOMB GOES BOOM! to America together...Cool. The Time was HOT! What a great band! Basically, it was the same set that they did when they opened for Prince on the Musicology tour. That's what I love about them, they play a short set, but it's LOADED with hits. Morris wore a Velvet black suit w/ rhinestones on the lapell, pockets and down the sides of the pants...white shoes, white shirt and printed tie. Great night! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Shelia E even came up tp the upper levels and gave my friends a hug and a CD. I thought her show was better than the Times but the Time show was good also. I have seen the Time do that same set so often and cutting Get IT Up short when Oak Tree should be the song cut short, that I wish they had a little more percieved spontienaity variety in song order and song selection. I was a very nice evening. I hope they both come back soon. It would be nice if that Local Band The Boulevard could open for them.
