Rolling Stones Is anyone here going to see the Stones this tour? I'd love to but they're not coming anywhere close.
So far the only shows I have tickets for this summer are 1. Deep Purple with Moutain 2. Motley Crue. Who are you'all going to? If you wanna get higher, ya gotta get DEEP!

I've seen the Stones five times now (Bridges To Babylon tour in Toronto, No Security in Toronto, twice on the Forty Licks tour in Toronto, and the SARSstock 450 thousand person jam in Toronto), and am quite sick of paying ridiculous amounts of money to hear them play "Brown Sugar", "Jumping Jack Flash", and "Satisfaction" again. God, do they really need to play "Start Me Up" again? If they promised to do more obscure tunes like "Time Waits For No One", and those types of tunes, I'd definitely go. But why would they do that? They can charge hundreds of dollars per ticket, and play the same tired old hits, and people will come. Just not me. They are rehearsing for the tour in Toronto, so if they do a club show before they start the tour, I'll make a point of trying to see that.

Another thing, if that live record from the Forty Licks tour is any indication, then they are no longer a great live band. That record sounds sloppy as Vanity's pussy. I can't even listen to it.

Yeah there's a handful of songs they alsways play but I think they do a better job of mixing up the set than a lot of bands do.
I do agree about the ticket prices. Who can afford them, people who go to one show a year & Yuppie baby-baoomers perhaps? If you wanna get higher, ya gotta get DEEP!

So far the only shows I have tickets for this summer are 1. Deep Purple with Moutain 2. Motley Crue. Who are you'all going to? U2 Paul McCartney and of course the Rolling Stones! However, I have seen the Stones 5 times already, and I will explain my reasons for going to see them again. The main reason is that they are playing at Rentschler Field in Hartford, CT which is only a 20 minute drive from my crib. Also, each time I have seen them in the past, they never cease to amaze me with their set list selection! I have like all the Stones albums and I've heard gems like '2000 Light Years From Home' performed live, in 1999 they did 'Gimme Shelter', and in 2002 they did 'Monkey Man' from Goodfellas, I couldn't believe it! For anyone who has scored Stones tickets, you won't be disappointed, I never was. But for those of you who weren't able to score tickets on the 1st day, the 1st hour the tickets were onsale for each city, forget about it, they're gone! People go absolutely fuckin' insane for Stones tickets like I have never seen for anyone else, even Prince! This will be my last Stones concert though, it's not easy to put up with a sold out football stadium full of drugged out drunks! I'd never ever miss a Who concert though, they could blow the Stones right off the stage even at this point, so would Prince! Frankie DJ P.S. Enjoy Deep Purple, they fuckin' rock! They did 4 years ago when I saw them anyway.
