P-Funk All Stars are coming around near me next week. So should I go? What do George & the gang do these days? I've never seen them live but I have seen some video from the old days. Anyone have setlists or photos to share? Thanx!

When P-Funk came to the Toronto Bluesfest 2 summers ago, it was just about one of the worst fucking shows I've ever been to. A bunch of seriously unmusical guitar players wanking all over the pentatonic scale. Disorganized is the word to describe the P-Funk band. Much of the show people were looking around at each other as if they didn't know what to do. George's granddaughter came on to do a rap about weed, which ate up some time. I've talked to a bunch of people who were at the show, and their reactions are all the same: If they got fucked up on drugs or booze, then they had a great time. If they were sober, then they were bored out of their skull, and left feeling cheated out of 25 bucks. Use your judgement.

Well it all depends, I went to 2 shows last year and they were ok on the first one and incredible on the 2nd one. If you have never seen them, you should check them out.

I saw them last night. Great show as always. I saw them one time a month apart. The first show was total funkadelic. All hard rock for over 3 hours and then saw them a month later at a festival show and it was two hours of parliment, horn section all over the place. The show last night was really a mix of the two
Every time I've seen them, they have been great, but as always some shows are better than others

Yeah "The Mothership" has landed in Dallas at the Grenada Theater
The show starts at 8:00, 4/30/05 as a matter of fact,
it should be on an popping as i post this.

I didn't get my funk pass so,

I've seen them last year. I like them the first ten minutes they were playing, but not the full 3 hours they were bragging on stage. I wanted to hear music, instead of being forced to stare to some black man's hard-on and to listen to some granddaughter whining about sex and drugs.

My ex-boyfriend had to work back-stage that night, they've snorted an immense portion of coke up their nose and asked for loads of weed.

The result was a big, boring show and messy music.

So not to much respect from me.
