Gift of Life Concert @ the Apollo Theater

The Apollo Theater Foundation and renowned poet, playwright, and performer Sekou Sundiata present a special one-night only Gift of Life Concert featuring Ani DiFranco (in her first appearance on the Apollo’s historic stage) and an all star line-up including the legendary Black Rock Coalition Orchestra, Nona Hendryx, Vernon Reid and other luminaries from the music world including the multi-talented saxophonist/poet/composer Oliver Lake, Grammy nominated jazz singer Carla Cook, R&B singer and Grammy-winning songwriter Gordon Chambers, and more to be announced. The event will also include special guests Danny Glover and renowned choreographer Ronald K. Brown, among others.

Spurred by the outpouring of support in communities large and small across this country, Sundiata brings this event home to Harlem, to help raise public awareness about the high risk of kidney disease and the pressing need for organ donation particularly in minority communities. Presented in partnership with the New York Organ Donor Network and the National Kidney Foundation.
