i read on okayplayer that someone had it confirmed from his publicist that he wasnt coming overseas. i mean, it might not be true as prince might not have notified his PR but i wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt make it here. hopefully he will but its still up in the air.

maybe touring overseas is more expense than profit. in the US he can probably make much more money without having to pay extra travel expenses, etc.

Lets hope he comes 2 Europe, i haven't seen him in 5 years, and no one puts on a show like Prince! I had one of my greatest moments in life when i saw him in 93.

Its been a long long time... and ain't nobody gonna pick up the tab. He's paying his own bills now...

Obvious trend 4 many - many - many reasons he won't be touring anywhere outside of the USA. Nothing ever stopped him prior to 1998.

Ask the independent artist.. and he dodges the question.

If another label takes the chance and signs him for a one album or soundtrack related deal and IF a radio/mtv/hit somehow bears fruit... you might see a few Japan/UK dates.

don't hold your breath

He probably won't come to Europe untill after this years Celebration. So maybe somewhere in July. I can imagine him playing the North Sea Jazz festival in The Hague with this material...

A few months ago i already expected PRINCE to come to Europe with a kind of best of show. Now i hear the emphasis is on TRC. I don't mind what he plays. I am a BIG fan since 1983 and i have seen him several times now.Every time it was a great party. I have been to a lot of concerts of diffirent artists throughout my life and out of experience i can say that princeconcerts are always a guarantee for a great time. I would really be disappointed when he would not come over.I don't wish to believe in that.

I think you hit the nail on the head - has Prince toured Europe since his break with Warner Bros.???
He needs label support or a commercial sponsor.

Prince can't afford to NOT play Europe. He will fill arenas here. He will be over for sure and i reckon late summer - early autumn. Ignore that shit!

I'd rather he didn't play the arenas. He wouldn't fill them and anyhow the sound and the intimacy is so much better in a smaller venue. Because it is such a long time since he has been here though( the UK ) he needs to publicise the fact that this a'int a hits show. Prince would attract the frequent concert goer who xpects to hear 1999, When Doves Cry, LRC etc. and he would attract a lot of bad press(as always). I can see it now "The Purple Pain charges £100 for a no hits show!". I'm all 4 the new stuff but I think on the flyer he should put something to the effect of what he has been saying at his concerts "Remember:This A'int 1984!..If U Think It Is, Then Ur In The Wrong Place!"

He toured Europe in 1998. If I remember correctly, he was in England, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria and Spain.

I think he needs to do something like Eric Clapton used to do - a long extended series of shows. Play a week in London, a week in Paris, etc. Clusters of shows. Would lower the money spent on travel & less down time that Prince has to pay for.

maybe he knows in Europe people don't care about his religious speeches, or that JW are considered as a sect and he doesn't want to honor us by his presence...

I think the same thing as you Albator (for France en tout cas..) , jw are indeed considered as a dangerous sect in this country & that's a good thing!

I'm sure he knows he won't earn as much money as touring the USA, in '98 I pay 4500 pts (more or less 28 euro or less than 25 dollars) to see him live instead of 125$. But I still think he'll visit Spain and forget the rest of Europe:P

It will be impossible to cater for the NPGMC fans, and the festival is way too large for his apparent low-scale ONA tour - unless he doesn't want to give the Dutch fans a similar treatment as the US fans...
So I guess the North Sea Jazz Festival is no option.

I think it's gonna be Heineken Music Hall and aftershow in Paradiso.

I certainly hope this is not true because a lot (and I mean a lot!!!) of people will be very disappointed.
Surely us European NPGMC members would also like to get a taste of the perks of belonging to the club.
Like Lovesexy said I also paid 4.500 pesetas to see Prince in Marbella in '98, why are prices in the States so high?
Anyway I will believe that Prince is coming over sometime after the Celebration and that will keep me going.
