Glastonbury Licence vote

The Regulatory Board met at Shepton Mallet to hear the Licence Application for Glastonbury Festival in 2003, and an attendee relayed details via text message to the official website.

According to the link from the official site, a vote taken at around 1am granted the licence (10 votes for, 4 against). Unfortunately, the attendees battery was running low, so further details will appear later.

With Prince rumoured to be playing on Sunday evening, does anyone know when an official announcement regarding headline acts should be forthcoming from the organisers?

The official website is at:

Confirmed line-ups typically don't come out till much closer to the show, and long after the tix have been on sale and sold-out...

Also, the line-up is always subject to lat minute changes. SO, if you're only thinkin of going for Prince, i'd think VERY carefully about your ticket purchase...

I am thinking very carefully. The thought of Prince playing Glastonbury doesn't particularly appeal to me.

So. Glasto has kind of appealed to me in the past but I am too much of a home comforts kind of guy and the camping in the mud kind of puts me off!!

Anyway the (faint) prospect of P appearing might sway me. Are there any Glasto officianados out there? Do you have to buy tix for the whole weekend or do they sell day tix?

I really cant think that P would really do it but then if there's one thing we can all agree on about P it's the unpredictability of the man!

for as long as i can remember, tickets have been for weekend only (no day tickets)...they are not cheap either will be £100+ this year...

however, the event is pretty magical - don't be put off by the mud tales - if the weather is good it is a fantastic atmosphere and music really is second to the aura the event creates (amazing, in this day and age, but true!)

the only big drawback is the bastard thieves who nick stuff from your tents!

The great thing is that Glastonbury is normally live on the TV so we don't have to suffer the crowds and the mud in person
