Which song from the current tour has really made an impression on you? after leaving the concert in New Orleans the XENOPHOBIA song has been stuck in my mind everyday.I find myself humming the main horn line in the song all the time or the bass part. What songs have stuck with you the most from the tour? It's better to have and not need, than to need and not have!

BNATURAL:
I agree -- Xenophobia. I hope to have that in crystal-clear quality on one of the upcoming NPGMC CD's. The other song that was really powerful in concert is Muse 2 The Pharoah. The bass line and rap portion of that are amazing live - and the words of the rap portion seem to hit home more in the live version.

Xenophobia, Muse 2 The Pharoah, 1+1+1=3 with Love Rollorcoaster we're definite highlights for me along with the way The Rainbow Children started off the show with that jazz swing to it!!

1. Avalanche blew me away. Absolutely beautiful, haunting music, superb, flawless falsetto and a bold message all in one song. I can't wait to hear the studio version of this, although it will take some doing to top the live version.
2. 1+1+1 is 3/Love Rollercoaster: That was the da bomb. Turned out the show. Folks showed they age on that one. 3. Most everything else. His musicianship - witnessed live - made most every song special.

Strange Relationship ship ship. He pulled that one out right after a slow sit down song and the beat just gets people rockin the house. Plus I never heard him sing it live(besides boot) and he was working it. NPG radiosation lol. Plus the words are badazz and you can sing them to your significant other while your groovin in concert..especially the part "isnt it a shame this aint a movie, cause then u could rewrite my every line" or " ..but I seem to get a kick outta doin ya cold" or " I hate to see ya happy, but nmore than that I hate ta see ya sad" or "yo baby Im sorry". "Climb in my fur."

His renditions of Condition of the Heart, Sometimes it Snows in April and I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore. What a first to hear him sing all these songs live!!! He even played the first few notes of Under The Cherry Moon...I can die in peace now... "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

"Strange Relationship - Pass the Peas - Sing a Simple Song" from the NYC shows (WNPG set) was amazing! That was a moment I will remember for the rest of my life..
1+1+1=3 was great live, which isn't a real surprise. Family Name was the best of the TRC material, however. Rainbow Children would have been better is the sound system wasn't messed up in the beginning of the show. Hearing "Adore" from start to finish was great! But who could hear over all of the screaming?!?!

I am very impressed with Family Name, too, especially the har-rock part at the end, but I have to say that I think his falsetto doesn't really work on that one live. I think some background vocals especially on the chorus would be better.
But then, I have only heard it through the internet, so who am I to say. Maybe it works much better really live.

and I agree about "Muse 2 the Pharaoh" also. There's an urgency in his voice during the rap part, it's breath-taking.

Hands down "Avalanche."
"Xenophobia" needed the visuals to come alive for me... once it did though it was very striking, but not as impressionable as "Avalanche," a haunting spiritual in the tradition of the sorrow songs of old. "Strange Relationship" rocked too, but did anyone else notice that he flips some of the lyrics? Instead of saying "Im sorry" sometimes he says "You're sorry" and "You take the blame." "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

Avalanche & 1+1+1 is 3.
Avalanche is just lush & gorgeous - his voice is amazing, he sounds incredibly passionate singing it. His heart is all over that one. 1+1+1 is 3 made no impression on me until I couldn't stop dancing to it on this blasted tour, LOL! I'm sold now...
