You know how many times u have seen him. And u know how u loved he fancy footwork. Well, it seems since he tweaked his ankle and tried to come back too early he doesn't work the mike stand the way he used to. Oh, and weren't the jumps off the speakers memorable. His shows still kick just on another level.

I do miss the splits! Could it be a physical injury? Last we saw him do them was on the Rave video!

Didn't he hurt his foot/ankle last year? Maybe he's just taking it easy!!?!?! Who knows.

Yes - I miss them! Cream video (does the splits several times from the sofa!). But if the man's got a bad ankle, he's got to rest - maybe we'll see more of them when it's better (or am I just wishful thinking???)

The dancing in concert was such a bonus, splits got up to 19 last time we saw him live...times have changed :*(

Although I've never seen him REALLY LIVE, I don't really miss his live shows. the last one I saw was Rave Un2 the Year 2000, and he seemed pretty cool there. He did what, 5-6 splits in a row? Still, I've never really seen him live. To me though, although he's an AMAZING showman, I love him for the music. you can't SEE a CD, can you? Just so long as he continues to kick ass at everything he does. B.B. King for example, is 76 (I think), but so long as he plays the blues the way he does, people will love him.

Uhhh... Prince is what... 43 years old??? At some point the body just can't do the things it used to. We all know he's been hurt a couple times the past couple of years jumping off pianos and sh*t... so I think when you consider his age, body not healing back to perfect etc., I think it makes sense that he would let some of that stuff go. And with Prince being the perfectionist that he is, I'm sure he decided that if he couldn't nail a split like he used to, then why bother. Besides, I ain't complaining because it is so very obvious that he's pouring all of his energy into the music - so I don't mind a bit!

Yeah, I miss his outstanding dancing, but we're all aware that he hurt his ankles so that's ok

I want you all to dance the same way you did when you were 19 the next time you get on the floor. Just thinking about it makes me laugh my ass off

you know, i thought i'd miss the splits during these shows (in LA) and last year's hit n run. and of course, i was a bit discouraged by the earlier reports by the naysayers about how he doesn't dance anymore.

but....

the man can GROOVE! he danced so much it tired me out trying to keep up! i coudln't really see him too well during the aftershow Friday in LA at the Highland, but the man was moving and shaking it all around the stage during the HOB aftershow. that little congo line with Sheila et al...

during both concerts, he did that HILARIOUS dancing he was doing during... can't remember the song (help me out folks) with Boyer on trombone... when he said "you gonna make me dance like one of my relatives" then started dancing ole skool! that was too funny. reminded me of UTCM, when Chris Tracy was drinking. then he says, "don't front. you know you have an uncle who dances like this"... then those dips. too funny.
