Will Prince be Performing @ the Sheila E Concert in LA

According to her website www.sheilae.com, she is playing at the Roxy in Hollywood on 12/12 with a Special "Suprise" Guest. Who could it be other than Prince that would cause them to "advertise" it. I just bought my tix; for $20 bucks how can you go wrong. Should be a great night that will turn unforgetable if his Purpleness shows up.

Anybody have any inside info???

I've been tryin 2 get more info about this all day long eek

Two other observations I've made:

#1 There were pics on NPGMC of Prince @ the 'Oceans Twelve' premier LAST NITE in LA

#2 I noticed that The Roxy show was the only show on Sheila's site that had this underneath it Unauthorized photography, audio or video recording prohibited.

No sad he did not show...even there was a rumored Takumi sighting...If he was there he was only watching. Stayed to the bitter end - 2:00am. Wendy Melvoin showed up and played Kiss and 17 Days, Guests Mike Tyson and Nuno Bennencourt (from Extreme) came on stage - Nuno was really good, Mike was a little scary.

She did a 75 minute drum percussion solo - seriously.

Wendy's sister, Susannah was also there, and Doyle Bramhall
some other old band members, her family (father Pete and 2 bros) all jammed together on stage, and various other friends came on stage to jam... but no Prince. After the show some guy came out and said - "the show might not be over - so get a drink and stick around" - so some of us stayed but then the Roxy management announced that the show was indeed over and we all left.\

It was good for me, a recent new arrival to LA, to see some real music with real musicians. I couldn't stand the Extreme guy, it was to me like sickening soft rock destroying the funk, groove R&B we had been soaking up all night. I had to leave when that was on.

I loved the long drum solo session with Sheila and her other drummer, a great chance to see what happens when you get 2 amazing drummers and 2 drum kits working in perfect funky harmony.

It was awesome to see Wendy, she just IS cool. Her riffs in Kiss are unmistakeable as the original and the best. They also played Alphabet Street and at the end of Kiss Wendy sneaked a peck on the lips from Sheila! Haha.

It was interesting for me to see Susannah, the girlfriend of Prince that inspired so many of his sex fueled early 80s tracks, in fact she does have a wonderful ass wink

It was a privilege to see Sheila's family playing all together too just as you imagine they would have when they were teenagers during the holidays. Such a talented family Well done, Mr E. I wouldn't have wanted to be their neighbour tho!

Happy Birthday Sheila

It was scary... he had this 20something girl with him (she had her arms wrapped around him from the back) and he grabbed a mic from one of the backup singers and joined in (forget what song)- he seemed... um... a little drunk.

No I am not. Your are showing yourself as ignorant. To be funky you doesent need to be a black guy with a telecaster in yopur hand. It's all about timing and syncopation, and nuno is very good at it. Dont be IGNORANT.
