Calm Down About the Aftershows Some of y'all are taking this Prince stuff too seriously. He's just a musician. Don't get all heated because you didn't get an aftershow or he didn't talk to you at a soundcheck.
Most of what Prince says is gibberish anyway, so why bother worrying about what he's saying? Take the reports from the aftershows with a grain of salt. A lot of it is just bullshit. Folks going on about how they've never seen Prince do this, that, or other, and he only did it at their soundcheck or aftershow or they did a special version of Purple Rain just for them are full of it. They're not seeing anything that Prince hasn't done before. If you have been to a Paisley Friday night jam session, or to the celebrations you have already experienced the same thing that happens at aftershows. Calm down. Chill out. In the wider scene of life, One Nite Alone soundchecks and aftershows are just minor entertainment diversions. You are not going to have any profound special life affirming night just because Prince plays an aftershow in your town.

....funny how that works.... oh and..i never said he hadn't played like that before...only that i never heard him play like that before...there is a difference.... ...i was at both celebrations and never heard him play like i heard him play at the dallas aftershow...

Umm, but wait a minute. Considering there is no longer new music to download, isn't this what people are paying for with the NPGMC memberships? I would be pissed too if there was no soundcheck or aftershow if I'd paid my dues.

These aftershows are the same thing he does at the Friday night Paisley jam sessions for $7. If you've seen those, you've seen an aftershow. The point is to address the peeps getting upset about not getting aftershows. Don't put more importance on aftershows than is warranted. What people are paying for are the nearly 3 hour concerts. If he gives his best at those shows, then be happy with that. Don't feel like you were cheated or didn't get your money's worth just because you didn't get an aftershow. Like I said, take these aftershow reports with a grain of salt. Some of the people writing them are outright trying to make other people envious or jealous. Saying unnecessary crap like "not to rub it in" or "sorry you couldn't be there." Ignore such horseshit about jam sessions in crowded clubs full of drunks. Be happy with the 3 hours of music performed in beautiful theaters that you get and don't worry over whether you get an aftershow.

No soundchecks or aftershows are guaranteed with the membership.

What the f**k was "Blackmf"s problem? You're right, except 4 the aftershow comment. I'd be willing to forego the concerts (after 1, of course) just to attend the aftershows for free. Every concert is the same on the tour anyhow.

From reading the reports, it seems that each concert is different. The setlists change.

From reading the reports, it seems that each concert is different. The setlists change. VERY little. I went both nights in Atlanta and to my knowledge heard every song over those 2 nights that he's done through the whole tour. Even most of the "jokes" were the same. He's gotten better at APPEARING spontaneous over the years, but his tours have always been scripted to the letter.

Well, at least Prince changes his jokes with each tour. Morris Day and the Time have been telling the same scripted jokes for years.

aftershows are like a bonus...if you get one, then great!...if not, then oh well...
bottom line with the club, if you don't see the value in the $100.00 membership fee, then don't pay it and shut the fuck up... Peace Out, Trout!!
