What made you decide to listen to Prince? After I heard Purple Rain, I was hooked for life.

browsed through my brother's CDs and saw this cover with a picture of a guy laying down with nothing but sheet covering him (1999). Wondered what it sounds like. it stayed in the cd player for a year or so, playing it at least 2-3 times a day, every day.

Watching him on the Computer Blue video made me buy the album.
Then I became an addict and bought 1999, then controversy (and I found out I danced to that song back in 1981), then dirty mind, then Prince (and I found out that I didn't no the author of my favourite disco song in 1979 - I wanna be your lover - what a shame!) then For You, then.....I waited for the next album to be released!!!!! 1999 is STILL the shit. It needs badly to be remastered. As does all of his music from the first decade.
1999 made me think this guy was always capable of playing something intriguing. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Although having said that; I had listened to him since For You. He just made it clear that he was going to be around a long time with 1999. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Seeing him live...
The Purple Rain tour...I was 14. I borrowed my sister's Purple Rain and 1999 records and I ran out and bought Dirty Mind and Controversay after that incredible night in March of 1985.
