oooh I forgot to add that Prince performed "Power Fantastic" in full at the soundcheck. Definitely a highlight! (Thanks to D for reminding me of this.) All I can say is WOW didn't want it to end Prince was just wonderful.
The concert was Xcellent more than five stars he gave us everything. John Blackwell played he beat those drum like they were bad little kids just spanking them my goodness and took off his hat and vest and put them back on just keep spanking . John is excellent up could feel the vibe under my feet and we were in the 1st tier. Was glad to see Maceo I loved him and just seeing him and doing pass the peas and they needed was Fred. Prince has James Brown down so enjoyable to hear and for him do that. The show was off the hook. To hear Prince play the piano was just the best experience and hearing purple rain also made me cry. I glad he played it and hopes he will. Thank You Prince for a wonderful night. The Aftershow was the BOMB!!!! They blew it up. This was my first Aftershow. To see Alicia and Prince on keyboards together I wished I had a camera and George was singing and hugging Prince. To finally see and hear Candy was worth it. Prince is just handsome. He looked good Just good boy oh boy. The concert alone was about 3 hr. and we got another 3. 6 hours of funk and jazz . This is one of the best bands he has had and don't forget Rhonda. I thank GOD for a beautiful xperince.

Great report. I'm still tripping that he did Free, was this the first time he has done this song at the shows? And he ripped Everlasting Now and Peach at the aftershow. "I dare any man in here to look in his eyes and not feel...something."

Excellent report!! Prince was AWESOME! I had an amazing time. I think I screamed throughout the whole concert. Actually, my husband isn't really a fan and he was screaming louder than me (and that's the truth)! It was indeed a euphoric evening.

Are you gay? That's gotta be the most INSECURE person on here.....since when does "giving a shout out" constitute someone is gay???? What a loser!!!! How the hell is 100mph a Prince fan???? Any form of brotherhood & love4oneanother, to man or woman, means your gay!? Get the hell out, 100mph! Hopefully you'll leave faster than your screenname says. As for you, NuPwrSoul, it was quite the review. My props out to you. Wish I could have been there. Went to the Chicago show and from all the reviews for the concerts after the one I saw, it seems better and better.....besides, I think we were the only city that didn't get a true After party. And a shout out to you for being one of the far and the few, like me, that actually like the NPS album. God bless. And to the rest of the P fam.... A Peaceful Wild ya'll!!! T-O-DoubleD

You weren't by any chance the woman who got up on stage? If you were, I have your picture with Prince, if you want it.

I was lucky enough to see the show at Paisley in January where he was starting to rehearse for this tour but reading all these reports makes me so ready for a real show here in Minneapolis! I guess I'll probably have to wait for the celebration in June for that!! Sounds like it'll be worth the wait!

I don't think that NYC has been overlooked by Prince. I'm pretty sure that he played a gig at Club Life where he and the band played until 5 a.m.
Prince is getting into the habit of always playing aftershows in certain cities, like Atlanta and NYC. That's a bad habit to fall into. If Prince wants this club to work, someone at Paisley had better start keeping track of what cities are getting the soundchecks and aftershows on this tour and which ones are not. People are going to decline to renew their memberships if he keeps giving everything to the same 3-4 areas.

I got there at 12 noon, by which time there were about 25 people in line. Someone had started a list, where folks put down their names + 1 guest, so I guess I was number 50 which wasn't so bad. The first person--shoutout to .ORGer FrankieBones--got there 'round 8 a.m.! (Such dedication. You go!)
Thanks NPS..... | |
