upcoming Concord, CA show Hey everyone, I'm leaving from work and my computer at home died so I can't check this forum till tomorrow morning when I return! But is any1 here in northern Cali going to the Concord show at the Chronicle Pavilion? My best friend and I are going and we've never been to a P concert, despite how much I luv him! Advice on tickets, advice on the experience, or just to meet up with us can be org.noted to me or written here. All posts are greatly appreciated! Gracias!
P.S. Thanx CarrieCee for the advice in the chatroom... although getting drunk beforehand might be out of the question I'm our driver! Oh shit, my hat done fell off

I am really hoping that the show occurs as scheduled. Assuming that it does, here are a few words of wisdom:
1) Getting to the Concord Pavillion on a Friday afternoon or evening can be HELL! All of the SF commuters that live in Contra Costa absolutely jam the side streets and freeways leading to the area. So leave early. 2) Leaving the concert to get to a SF afterparty can be equally bad. The parking lot jams up, and it can take 45 minutes just to get moving. Park near a lot exit if possible, even if it means walking further to the venue. 3) If you are a nonmember, getting a seat up close is critical. The last time I saw him in Concord '98, I pulled 27th row seats and felt as if I needed binoculars to see him. It's a large amphitheater, and some performers resort to large video screens at the Pavillion to provide a "view of the performance" from the back of the venue. 4) If you are a member, I'll see you there! With all of our creative, collective resources, surely someone at the org can find a way to confirm that the Concord show is still on (or at least not cancelled). The Pavillion website lists nothing for May 3rd. TheMax "When they tell me 2 walk a straight line, I put on crooked shoes"

I am still hoping that he will change his mind about venues.....He is playing smaller, intimate places everywhere else.....How about Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.....or Henry J Kaiser Convention Center.....play somewhere SMALL.....!!!!!

The Compaq or the Event Center are good venues. Regardless of the location let's all hook up at the show. Maybe even go to the aftershow together.

Maybe even go to Club Ibiza if there is no aftershow.

As far as Bay Area venues go,I prefer the Compaq Center in San Jose, and the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View.
