just a quick note. while most of this info is sprinkled throughout the concert reviews for the atlanta shows, i thought i'd post this for the folks in cities getting the up coming shows.
first the aftershow: apparently the club, at which the aftershow took place, sent out an email announcing that prince was playing there that night and so we were worried that if we stayed for the whole regular show we'd never get in or be able to see if we did get in. after the show when we arrived to the club there were hundreds in line down the block. we walked up showed our laminants and walked right in at no charge. then about 20 feet in front of the stage was roped off with the club packed behind the rope. we were let in to the roped off section directly in front of the stage with our laminants. i was amazed that it actually worked and worked amazingly smooth. the only hitch was that they attempted to charge admission to my friend at the door because when you get let in to the concert, you only get 1 laminant for the 2 tickets you purchase. the club was only going to let the person with the laminant in free. it was resolved.
the concert/sounchecks: when we arrived to the venue the first few started a list of arrivals in order of arrival. (i suggest that folks in other cities do this, it helped a lot). and the first to arrive got there at 9-10am. the list continued for all the club members as they arrived, so that when we lined up at near time to be let in there was only a minimum of b.s. ( i say minimum, there are no perfect systems). as you may have noticed for the first show, the ushers cleared the hall after the souncheck, which caused a lot of controversy when let back in. that was corrected for the second show, and shouldn't happen again, but it would be wise to mention something to security about the policy stated by the npgmc that your seats for the soundcheck are supposed to be your seats for the show, and that they shouldn't send you out. i think the wednesday fiasco, was do to the venues folks, not prince's folks, because we told samnation about this and he corrected it for the next night.for those going to the up coming shows, enjoy!

Another piece of advice for all of your concergoers. This has been said before but I think it is worth repeating: Do not bring your CD of personal music and expect Prince to be interested in it. The man is very busy and has a soundcheck to do, he does not need to be interrupted by someone who is trying to make a breakthrough in the music industry. The other NPGMC members have paid their membership to enjoy the soundcheck, not to have it interrupted by a fanatic. If you have music that you want to have noticed, please find another way to market it.
