Soundcheck in Atlanta 4/4 I'll start with the soundcheck...
As we entered,Calhoun Square was already playing. This was soon followed by an awesome version of Dolphin. Man, what a great version of this song. I couldnt believe he was playing it. It was the highlight of the soundcheck. After completing that tune, Prince eventually moved about 20 rows behind everyone & striked up a conversation about the Middle East. This soon led up to the discussion of religion. This discussion took up the majority of the soundcheck. I noticed many people getting frustrated & wanted to hear some music. Its fair to say it was a lively conversation & at times interesting. It was kinda cool to see some of the members take Prince to task on certain things(eg. religion in his music & the sense that he's forcing it on people). Regardless of your views on Prince, having a conversation with him & the members was a unique opportunity. Also, the seating issue was resolved in the respect that we were allowed to stay in our seats instead of having to leave. Prince even asked "Who was fighting over seats last night"? Just an early glimpse into the soundcheck, Im sure others will follow with more detail. One point though...this show was tons' better than the previous night ( Not to say the first night in ATL wasnt sweet!!!) | |

Thanks for your report. What was Prince's response to the comments about him forcing his religion on others? Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

It was the highlight of the soundcheck. I'm glad other fans got the chance to hear that version of Dolphin. When I heard it in Columbus, it blew me away too. I remember when the song first started, I didn't know what it was, then when he said the first lyrics to the song I was like... "Ohhh, wow! That's Dolphin!" It kind of catches you off guard because you don't expect Dolphin to sound like that. Hopefully it will surface on a boot somewhere. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
