san diego on the 5th

whoa, i think prince and the npg gets better everytime i see him. caught him a bunch of times in los angeles and vegas but it's been a couple of months since seeing him and his show is getting tighter. the set list is similar 2 the recent shows
musicology, crazy, doves, star, dsmr, shhh, no diggity,
acousic guitar set, little red corvette, adore, wanna be your lover, prince and the band, the rules, 7
pop life, kiss, life o the party, p poppa, u got the look, call my name, purple rain
not as many songs as the los angeles shows but it's nice 2 hear some new songs in the rotation. pop life sounds just like the live at the aladdin version with the jazzz and that was great
by the way prince, please never play the cox arena in san diego again. the place is a disaster waiting to happen. it's a pit.
i even noticed prince make a mistake on the vocals on kiss. this was rare.
i loved the show., worth the price of admission just to see people take prince in a big ass case and take him away. i can't wait to see him again. this is 12 or 13 on the musicology tour 4 me and it's worth the $. so needless to say,all my friends have a copyof musicology. i don't know what to do with the ones i got now. anyways when it comes to your town, check it out or u'll b sorry.

I have to agree with you regarding Cox Arena. This was the WORST venue ever. The sound equipment sounded too powerful for such a small/crappy venue and I noticed that the 4 stage legs were made shorter compared to when I saw the show at Staples Center. Prince gave a way better show in LA, he gave 110%. I felt he wasn't giving much love to San Diego, but that was all right with me since I'd already seen him at his best.

Not to be mean, but the crowd in SD was... different to me - in a bad way. (I grew up in SD but moved to LA 4 yrs ago) One person specifially, this chick who was directly behind me in section S... had the most ANNOYING high-pitched shrilling scream got on my nerves so bad, she basically ruined it for me. The shrieks coming out her mouth damn near broke my eardrums and she knew it, too. I understand we all get excited about Prince, but if you can't scream like a normal person, please don't torture the rest of the audience. She knew people around here were annoyed, yet she kept doing it. Talk about NO class!!!

Do I feel badly about everyone in San Diego? The answer is NO. I was simply saying how I felt that night in general, and then elaborated on an individual specifically. Don't get me wrong. Like I said, I grew up in SD and my observation between the concert crowd compared to LA was that they were different. The show itself was amazing. Prince and the other musicians - amazing. Just wish I could have been able to enjoy it better given my surroundings.

well I'm orginally from L.A. and saw him there...and SD people are not on the same level as L.A. or Vegas people are....at the end these artist are tired..sd is more white and conservative as other cities are more melting pots.....Here in Diego people think you are the bomb if you have benz or lexus and in other cities everyone has one.....I went to college and graduated from here but, I never ever claim to be a native...it was good I was mad cause we parked too far and since SDSU is my alma mater we didn't have the arena back then...

I managed to find a close parking spot for the show & got floor seats from NPGMC. I'll get my tix from NPGMC from now on. U can tell the casual fans from the diehardsb4 the show when almost everyone is groovin to the joints b4 the show starts. The show was incredible, Prince put on a great show, but I felt it was 2 short after starting 45 mins late & ending close or b4 11 pm. The sound of the show was 2 loud or not mixed well. Prince dancing with the Granma was classic!! I got to shake hands with Greg Boyer & Maceo!! I was so surprised by the diversity of the crowd black.white, asian. Ages from 5 to 66! Prince's playing & dancing was incredible & the NPG was tight as hell!
Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave!

I Live in Michigan, back in July, I went to the concert in Detroit at Joe Louis, I thought it was great, Loved the playlist, but knew somethin went wrong, it just did'nt seem right, but all n all worth it I suppose, I had excellent seats & took my husband. At the end of August my family & I went for a two and a half week vacation in Anaheim, My brother in law bought us (his girlfriend,me & my 2 daughters 6 & 9) tickets for the SanDiego show. Boy I walked away from there mesmerized. I was already mesmerized by your state, but even more captivated at the venue & the show, what an experience in California.Cox arena may not have been the best place but let me tell ya, holding 12,000 people instead of the 23,000 at Joe Louis arena was quit cozy (& a little hot, I am so not use to your weather) The show itself, blew me away, I feel very sorry for all of the people who saw him in Detroit, cuz MAN, they got ripped off. The Man was obviously in a better mood in SD. & he played so much more music & laughed so much more then in Detroit, I am so glad I got to experience it, & I am glad my daughters(who danced their butts OFF!) got to see it too. To be totally honest, Just the scenery getting there was breathtaking. In Michigan, it's mostly flat, & out of the whole 2 & 1/2 weeks I was there, I think SD was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! during the day & at night.

how can you all see the same concert more than 4 times or so??

im not beign rude, i have every cd of new material (major and npg music club - excluding the millions of live albums), however, i dont get it why you'd want to see ine artist more than 4 times over a period of months.

fair enough on seeing different tours, in different years, my dads seen him in 1980 and 1985 and 1999, but to see the same tour again and again.

im sure its a good show, ive just always thought its a tad stalker ish to want to see soemone that many times.

to me, i would have thought the shock factor would go down after seeing soemone that many times, and it appears that everyone on here that has seems to say the 2nd or third time theyve seen him on this tour, its not been as good (no suprise to me really, as youve allready experienced exactly the same show , only slightly altered).
