what people are wearing...

alright, because prince is playing symphony halls and theaters, are people coming dressed up a little more than they normally would...

i had just planned on wearing jeans and a t-shirt, but my fiance didn't want prince to notice us as the slobby ass music club members up front...

just wondering what people have been wearing to the concerts so far...

You can wear what you want too, one thing I did notice is guitar tech Tacumi had on a suit that was a first.....

Yeah, but apparently the fashion police weren't out last night (3/30). I mean power to people with confidence, but you still need to know your limits and NOT wear belly shirts if you actually HAVE a belly...
Can someone answer me this question: we knew about the shows about a week in advance, yet there were T-Shirt scalpers there with about 600 different (and current) style T-Shirts. Does anyone know how this works? I would never buy that garbage, but I never really thought about how/who does these shirts.

yeah, when i saw prince on the hit n run tour in charlotte, these t-shirt people were all over the place... one guy walks up to me, and he's like "prince tour shirt $10"... and he just briefly flashes the front of the shirt to me before flipping it around to the back... the back of the shirt was just a list of the tour dates and a picture of prince, but the front looked like it may have been the symbol... but i was curious as to why he flipped it so fast, so i asked him to show me the front again... it was such a deformed variation on the symbol that even non-fans who are not that familiar with the look of the symbol would have looked at you strangely like, "dude, that's not the symbol is it?".... so, we laughed our asses off at all of the people who were suckered into it... they guy got offended and walked away when i informed him that he had gotten the symbol wrong on the shirt...

Last year I saw somebody on eBay tried to hawk some messed up symbol T-shirt. The prince was all out of wack. It looked like some kind of Egyptian hierglyph or something lol

As far as how to dress, I wouldn't go the T-shirt and jeans route to a Prince show at a theater. Don't put on your "Sunday Best" suit, but a decent pair of pressed pants and nice shirt should work.

If you have a nice NPG T-shirt that would work. Just make sure it's not some faded out Purple Rain shirt that smile

You don't want to look like a slob, but you don't want to be overdressed either.

AND DON'T WEAR LEATHER. If I'm correct there were some people at the DC soundcheck and that had leather jackets with his face on the back. I beleive he said "don't kill no cows on my behalf" or something to that fact.

Anyone there remember?

Well, Divinity had on leather pants... yet another reason Prince didn't want her damned demo CD!

i wore my vintage 1999 t-shirt with the sleeves ripped out...a big silver cuff bracelet on my wrist and tight, black flat front dress pants with silver star studs down the side (from ADONIS)...and boots.

my date wore very tight vintage worn wrangler jeans with 6 inch rolled up cuffs, boots, a white dress shirt with a baby blue sleevless sweater vest with argyle print and a symbol pin on his collar...

we were hot

PLS

this is a legitimate question that i was wondering about -
does Prince even consider purple as "his color" anymore? i mean, is the color purple way passe to Prince now or does he still consider it part of his trademark and image? he's making so many new changes in his life and image and purple was *so* identified as "his color" all during his more um.. naughty..years i was just wondering if he wants to leave the whole purple thing in the past, too.

as a side note, i've always liked the color purple unto itself and not because of its connections to Prince and so i have lots of purple in my wardrobe. the times i've gone out to PP i always consider wearing purple but then i feel like if i do i'll look cheesy and like i'm some dork just trying to suck up to Prince. so i've always vetoed the purple. (same applies to paisley clothing that i own.)

does anybody else feel like that or am i just being dumb?

I think purple is still in his color choices... not as prominent as before but it still pops up every now and then.
