Do you get a numbered seat with general admission presale? I know this HAS to have been discussed before, but I can't find it on the org anywhere. I know that you get your laminates when you get there and are let in to the soundcheck to get your seats(the NPGMC tells me that) but what I wanna know, is do you get a ticket for a particular seat, or do you really have to guard your seat all night even if you have to get up to go to the bathroom? No numbered seats. I guess u have 2 depend on the other people not 2 jack u're seat, or just hold it. My advice : Just don't drink 2 much the day of the show The Mothership Connection... Funk, Soul, R&B, & Jazz every Monday night @ 8:00 p.m. Listen @ www.wqaq.com (We are off the air 4 the Summer. Returning in early September 2004)

I wonder what is there to stop someone who has a seat in row 20 from creeping up and grabbing a seat in row 3 once the house lights are off? If no one in the first 6 rows has numbered tickets, who is to say which seat is "yours" if someone grabs the seat while you're in the bathroom...?

Can't u guys go a few hours without going 2 the bathroom? Worst case scenario, u have 2 make friends with the person sitting next 2 u and make sure they save u're seat. The Mothership Connection... They most likely will have ushers checkin to make sure only those with member laminates will have access to the members section. Within that, folks just gonna have to work it out. Thanks for the help.. just want to make sure How many NPGMC members are in NYC area? Around 100 or more do ya think? ______________________________________________

if you go with someone else, have that person save your seat... that's what i'm doing for the purpose of buying merchandise... one of us will go and buy a t-shirt and then come back and let the other one go... Mr. Ellis Dee-licious, the Official NPGigolo

This is my worry to this whole event. We shouldn't have to "guard" our seats. My solution, which I should probably email to the NPG, is this:
When an NPG club member picks up their laminate, he/she is given a random envelope with 2 tickets inside. These two seats will be located together somewhere in the front 5 to 10 rows (depending on the city and number of fans). The tickets will not be first come, first served. It will be totally random to NPG music club members. This lets all the NPG members sit up front, but also prevents any possible pushing/shoving, guarding of seats, etc...For $125, we all deserve to have an assigned seat that we shouldn't have to fight over. If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

I've never heard of general admission for a seated venue. It is going to be a pain in the ass. Usually they let people stand up front in the pit for general admission shows but not seats. This will be pretty difficult for scaplers to get those seats though. ______________________________________________

I am waiting to see how this all works out at the next few shows before I also mail the NPGMC with the same suggestion. This is how the Aerosmith fan club worked it out, and it is fantastic. No favorites, no hassles. Just tickets put in envelopes and names attached to the envelopes. Just like the Celebration 2000, where we were given envelopes with tickets enclosed.

I don't understand how this "claim your seat at the soundcheck" system is going to work. At the Indianapolis show, we were booted out of the theater after the soundcheck and had to wait in the lobby until the doors were opened to the general public. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

I can't wait to read the reports on how this general admission system is working.
