BanishedBrian,
I'm with you on both things man...

One: It was actually the nasty personal attacks that were thrown her way that had nothing to do with the issue at hand...those are the types of things that made me go "Damn, these folks just ripped her up to shreads...they're hardcore cold blooded for sure!"

Two: We can (as your honorable appology post nicely proves) and should move on.

I for on am leaving it alone and getting back to the good stuff...the MUSIC...smile

Well guess what, I was the lucky person who sat next to Divinity for the rest of the concert. I feel like the universe was testing my patience. First the show started and she arrived at her seat late. Then she wants me to tell her how the seats are numbered (Hello, I'm trying to enjoy the concert). Then she dances next to me with no regard for her hair brushing those people around her. Then I sit down with a drink and the streamers from her costume land in my glass of champagne (Hello, I'm trying to enjoy my drink without your costume in it). Next everyone sits for a ballad and she stands. An usher asks her to sit and she wants to know if he can get her back stage (Excuse me, you're blocking my view). She ends up in the center aisle to observe the concert and argues with another usher about returning to her seat. I feel like Divinity should have paid for my concert seat that night as she really imposed on my experience.

This is how I see it...no name calling, no negative intent, no apologies. Just my truth. Sometimes folks can be oblivious to the consideration that should be shown to others around them. "Its 'her' world for a little while!"

R~

LOL! I'm sooo sorry your concert experience was disrupted, but your post just goes to show once again that this Divnity person was not this poor innocent soul that some are making her out to be. Thank you for the up close and personal side of her BS.

LOL! I think if people are so concerned about what people say about them, they better watch what they put up on a public website. Divinity6 was looking for pity but found an assload of reality instead - nothing wrong with that (sounds like she dismissed all that disagreed with her anyway). Scrutiny is a bitch! razz

Some people on this site were very harsh. Funny thing is, most of them weren't even there. Just goes to show how people will defend Prince to the end. Prince could have handled the situation so much better. When he asked Divinity to come and get the CD and she began to protest, all he had to do was pull her aside and explain to her quitely why he couldn't accept the CD. Ya know, maybe give her a reason so she could understand instead of coming across like a jerk. He didn't have to go on about Andrew Lloyd Weber, Alicia Keys, blah blah blah. I felt bad for her. People on this site should not be so cruel to others. Remember the old saying, "if you can't say something nice, don't say it all." I'm not talking about disagreement, I'm talking about the name-calling and such, which is really childish.

She had an "unfortunate concert experience" which was 90% in her own head and of her own making....the best compassion for someone like that is a large dose of reality and NOT coddling...

well i was there and i am not apologizing 4 anything i've posted about the situation....it made me ill 2 read how she put a total spin on things just 2 gain sympathy...i read it 2 a friend over the phone who was w/ me on sunday, and even HE couldn't believe it.....he said "wait, were we at the same sound check?" lol...

once again i will say prince was graciously indifferent...he handled it w/ class...he called her out and Divinity was the one sitting in the dark and couldn't handle what she started...and look at her now..everyone else is still talking, debating, and even arguing about what happened and where is she??? STILL hiding in the dark...

it seems she isn't even hearing what Prince says in his music about taking responsibility 4 what u do...so while i appreciate your 4giving nature Brian, i am not apologizing 4 calling her KooKoo fer CoaCoa Puffs razz

When a persons emotions are stimulated they perceive things in an altered manner. There perceptions aren't always right on. That's Psychology 101. I believe she experienced the situation the way she described it.

That's an oxymorom if I've ever heard one.

If he had handled it with class then he would have handled it privately, not in front of 80 people.

This thread is not about Prince anymore. It's about this sad woman, and how some were harsh.

No, but we all heard from many who were there...and so far NOBODY'S account matches Divinity's...or does that even matter to you??

Just goes to show how people will defend Prince to the end.

Actually, it just goes to show how mad people will get when:
1- Their sympathies get played on(the whole "I'm disabled!" thing started to grate on everyone's nerves when it became obvious that her "disability" played no part in her story whatsoever...)

2- They get purposefully distorted stories(for starters, Divinity is most definitely NOT a girl...lol...that headline had me thinkin' the "girl" was some wheelchair-bound 12 year old fan...)

3- How irritated most fans get at overly-obsessed fans who react in an overly-emotional way(call it the "Chill Your Ass Out! I'm A Fan, Too, But Damn!" syndrome)

It also goes to show the lengths you will go to dismiss anything that doesn't portray Prince in a negative light..

Prince could have handled the situation so much better. When he asked Divinity to come and get the CD and she began to protest, all he had to do was pull her aside and explain to her quitely why he couldn't accept the CD.

Maybe we all know something that you have yet to comprehend...and that's this small but important fact: PRINCE WAS DOING A SOUNDCHECK!!!...lol...that time is used for warming up, practicing, and checking sound...lol...and he even started THAT late...Prince and the band's time is FAR FAR FAR too valuable during this time to be taking one overly-emotional, rude, and delusional fan aside to make sure she understood what 99.9% of everyone else already did...Prince did all he needed to and should have had to do, and from all reports besides Divinity's did it with maturity and calmness...it's Divinity who has a aircraft carrier full of shit she should have done differently...but let's not concetrate on that when we have an opportunity to find fault with Prince, right??

Ya know, maybe give her a reason so she could understand instead of coming across like a jerk.

Once again, other than Divinity's warped account(which you seem to be holding onto as if it was engraved in stone on a mountaintop), who ELSE has said Prince acted ANYTHING even CLOSE to being like a jerk??...

He didn't have to go on about Andrew Lloyd Weber, Alicia Keys, blah blah blah.

It was Divinity who brought up the subject of covering other people's music by saying she "added" to one of his published songs, and then having the nerve to act like she had permission!!...who the fuck expects to be able to say shit like that to PRINCE of all people, and NOT get at least a quick rundown on what's wrong with covering other artists' music without their approval??...

I felt bad for her. People on this site should not be so cruel to others. Remember the old saying, "if you can't say something nice, don't say it all."

If Divinity had followed this, we wouldn't be talking right now... wink

I'm not talking about disagreement, I'm talking about the name-calling and such, which is really childish.

Truthfully, very little "namecalling" has taken place...the overwhelming majority of the posts were filled with intense, heated, and angry retorts based on what she did...the closest most came to calling Divinity any sort of name was saying "Disability??...your disability must be mental!"...lol...that, to me, is more a play on words than namecalling...go read some of Kellyanne's old posts for a quick study in Namecalling 101...nothing on Divinity's thread even came close to that.

I know that Vanity's account of what happened doesn't jive with what other people said. I still don't agree with the way Prince handled it. He should have pulled her aside and handled it PRIVATELY, not in front of all the attendees. Certainly, she was out of place in what she did, but so was Prince in his reaction. Considering his status as a rock star, he must expect things like that to happen. Point is, He's a person, she's a person. Be curteous. She thought she was giving him a gift. He didn't see it that way, BUT HE KNEW WHERE SHE WAS COMING FROM. If he didn't then he's a complete fool.

Adambomb, from all the other accounts, to me Prince handled everything perfectly...he should not be faulted for a damn thing, because he didn't do a damn thing wrong...saying it could have been handled "differently" or even "better" does not equate into he handled it "wrong"...I will only find fault in those who handled things wrong, and so far only Divninty fits that description.

WB, Comments like this are why all of reacted so quick and ferociously to Divinity's post Monday. There are now dozens of people who have ALL stated that Prince did nothing wrong on Sunday, yet people still insist upon making this about how he is supposedly a dick. It's amazing how people can be so quick to believe some rumor yet so unwilling to really find out the true facts even when those facts are on the same thread.

I read that thread rather late. I dont care if she gave prince a c.d and he refused it, that's his perogative, and like someone said, artists have to deal with rejection all the time. The low part, for me anyway, was the disability issue. The way the thread heading was worded was completely misleading, it was an obvious ploy to get sympathy, which would have been forthcoming if she had actually suffered the way she led us to believe. Saying that, she hasn't murdered anyone, so better luck next time divinity. Maybe you will handle things a little differently.

Well, I am not apologizing for anything I said to Divinity on the other thread, and I cannot believe that other people are now saying that we were too hard on her. Too hard on her? Excuse me? I don't think so, not when she claims to be disabled, then when questioned about it, gets defensive and says that she is covered by some Disability Act and does not need to answer that question. She should have known that people were going to ask her what her "disability" was, especially when she mislead everybody by using that word in the title of her post. The fact that she refuses to answer that question proves to me right there that she is lying.

Also the fact that Divinity's story of what happened at the soundcheck was so different than what the other people who were there said it was leads me to believe that she is just doing this all to get attention and to get pity from people (which in this case backfired). I feel sorry for her ONLY for the fact that her self esteem and self worth are so low that she has to do this in order to get attention. Like someone else said, you can't expect to post an untrue story on the org and have everybody feel sorry for you. It just does not work that way in the real world. She is so out of touch with reality that it is frightening.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
