IMAGINE THAT? I just finished reading the interview with Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam and the intriguing (and probably well hashed) thought of their producing Prince occurred to me. I know that the whole Graffitti Bridge/Pandemonium era of music was a collaborative effort between Prince and "Flyte Time," but what would happen if Prince actually let them DRIVE?
I really enjoyed Shake, Chocolate, and many of those funky GB/Pandemonium songs and still think that the way the movie stunk up the theatres caused that album to be unappreciated in terms of a "comeback" effort on the part of Prince and the Time. I predict an album on par with "Purple Rain" (I almost said "Thriller" here) in terms of sheer numbers of units sold, radio play, et cetera (all the stuff that Prince doesn't care about anymore) Because these SONS OF PRINCE are FUNKY, and of all of his proteges these guys have that stayin' power -- i.e., they be kickin' the gift! Any of y'all out there got an IMAGINE THAT? scenario you'd like to see played out? Any thoughts on a real Flyte Time album -- band members: Morris Day Vocals/Drums Jimmy Jam Keyboards Terry Lewis Bass Prince Whatever I still crack up when I listen to CB - Coreen Baconskin... by the way, who played the drums on "Irresistible Bitch"?
