OK...
First a BIG thanks to fellow ORGer & fellow NPGer 'D' for enabling my wife and I to see the show. We owe ya man! Soundcheck : Fans were very quiet...P even commented on it...'... P: "Man, ya'll are so quiet." Fans mumble stuff like: "were just enjoying the music" P: "yeah right, don't front. Ya'll just trying not to talk over your tape recorders" Everybody cracked up. Prince walked in from behind the audience to get on stage. I couldn't hear all of the questions folks were asking, just P's answers. There was little girl (maybe8-10 years old) in the audience who asked if he was ever gonna make an album for kids...P said "you can listen to TRC, it wont get you in trouble". He also said that his next album will be kid friendly. He said something about working on a live album. Some girl tried to give him a cd of her stuff, but he's not allowed to take cds from folks so he gave it back. She kept on trying to plugg her stuff though. folks started moaning...P told everyone to be nice to her. The songs they played during the check were mostly instrumental jamsession like tunes. Larry came out and told the airplane story. Prince said they were gonna play Everlasting Now tonight at the show, but they didn't. That's all i can remember from the soundcheck. I'll post about the actual show later. | |

due 2 the fact i had sucky seats last night (more so than sat night), the Carlos performance was the highlight 4 me...we were right in the aisle, 4th row, saying our goodbyes...i look up and prince is walkin back out on stage w/ all the stage crew and people milling about.....people started screaming and it was on!! the view from standing in the aisle was better than the seat i had the whole night!! but "joy in repitition" w/ Carlos was well worth dealing w/ the woman next 2 me who kept her arms crossed the while night w/ a crazed blank stare on her face(i think she was missin a few crayons in the box)...and the only time she was animated was when she TRIED 2 get on stage or stand up on her chair and her husband kept snatching her crazy ass up and pulling her back, lol sheesh, why me? | |
