THe third show was better...Sheila E and the Time played that night. I was at the second show and was happy that it was all "Prince" that night, but seeing Sheila E and the Time was great....lLenny Kravitz, PDiddy and Chris Rock were in the audience and of course the audience was all over all of them, before the show started....sorry don't know about Bambi...if he sang it I don't remember I was too excited to remember....?

I don't know. The audience was the loudest at that third night in NY but the second night in Washington D.C. did it for me. I didn't think it could get better than NY though.

I have to say, the 2nd night at MSG was HOTT! Hearing Bambi and Call My Name was too much for me. Plus, Controversy, SOTT and DMSR were longer than the concerts I went to in L.A. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Well... since I was at all 3 at MSG... I MUST say #3 was THEEEE show... Tight as tight as tight can be... So much so that at the afterparty that night they repayed the show! Watch... that's the one they'll use for Showtime or PPV concert on TV !!

Prince started to play Bambi on August 14th here in DC, but when I heard the first chord, I gave him a look that said "Don't be comin' up in my house with some shit that might have appeased some 'Bama up in New York last month!" In response, he immediately broke into a thermonuclear version of Bustin Loose, which ripped the roof off the MCI Center, making the August 14th show -- all 2 hours and 40 minutes of it -- the best show on the tour, hands down, by far, no question, beyond dispute, bar none, no doubt, case closed!

Just like, "Babe Ruth was the greatest home run hitter because he played at Yankee Stadium . . . I mean we are talking New York CiTTTYYYYY!!!!!" or "George W. Bush's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention was the greatest oration ever because it was at MSG . . . I mean we are talking New York CiTTTYYYYY!!!!!" I think we catch your drift.

How do you know it was the best show of the tour if you weren't at all the other ones? Oh yeah, I guess it was the best because you were there...whatever.

I am so looking forward to a DVD of this tour--I hope it includes footage of the NYC shows. I've read a few reviews that just raved about the performance. "Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion" -- Martha Graham

I attended the second show at MSG and in my opinion, that was the best out of all 3 nights. My cousin attended the third show with Sheila E. and the Time. as well as the second show with me. She told me that she enjoyed the second show more because it was all Prince. I kinda agree. While the thought of all of them together is a nice idea, I came to to see Prince.
Just my two cents. Short. [Edited 10/10/04 13:59pm] "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I also went to all three MSG shows and one Fleet center show and I have to say nite number 2 at the Garden was the best, True Sheila E rocked the house but night two just cooked. The audience sing along on Sweet thing alone made it extra special. Although in all fairness I was in the front row for nite two, right in front of the couch where P takes a minute to compose himself....
Can't wait for the DVD | |

I think it was after the third night in NY when at the after party, a video of that night's performance was screened at B.B. King's. The quality was amazing! I just had this feeling they were going to turn that one into a DVD but I could be wrong. The sound and video quality made me feel like I was back at the concert and I couldn't take my eyes off the screen so cross your fingers.

I saw 7 shows this year and I gotta agree that 2nd MSG show was the best of the one's that I saw. And I was at that 3rd show with Sheila and caught her drumstick and the night be4 was still better...Prince wrecked the house so much I was surprised that the were able to repair the garden in time for the third show!!
