Salt Lake City...beat with the Funky Stick

What can I say that hasn't already been said?

Good thing the show was outdoors last night. Prince and The Band were so hot...if it had been indoors, they would still be cleaning up the piles of melted concert-goers.

The show was a lot of fun, as always. As I sit here trying to think of how to describe the night, I am at a loss for words. What else is new? I think it will take a couple of days for my mind to compute the sensory overload that was last night.

I'm horrible at set lists redface , but I know I heard "7", which was wonderful.

It was so much fun hearing "Controversy" (Although, Prince, we were up for the chant. Even people in Salt Lake "Wish we all were nude...we wish there was no black and white. We wish there were no rules..." giggle ) Not to mention, "I Wanna Be Your Lover", "DMSR" and so much more.

KD, sorry I couldn't stick around. Security was starting to bogart people out tha place. evil It was so wonderful meeting you and Paul and seeing Connie again. "VIVA LAS VEGAS!!! If it happens, it's on!!! Ya'll have a safe trip home!

One other stand out of the night. Heard more than one comment about how people didn't know there were so many NPGMC members in Salt Lake. Maybe a "Prince Night" somewhere is in order. If anyone is interested, let me know. I don't live right in Salt Lake, so if anyone could suggest a club or whatever, we can do this.

Nothingbutjoy great post, I too am still recoving for the concert. My wife and I sat on the hill and wanted to kick back and enjoy the the show (YA RIGHT). We stood and danced the whole time.

It was really was a different crowd from the back. This is my first show that I have not been at least third row and I'll never make that mistake again. There was a number of songs where I would look around and notice I was the only one singing along.

In case anyone was wondering the set list was pretty much the same thing. I was really impressed with the Zepplin cover.

One interesting thing of note was the number of family that kicked out a blank and hung out on the grass. Very Impressive. Overall I would give the show an A.

On the funnier side, while waiting in line they kept telling us that if cameras were found they would shut the show down. I actually saw security looking a pictures on a camera phone with people in the crowd. REAL NICE, I should have had my camera with me biggrin

Thought it was the greatest concert I have ever seen. About time Prince finally didn't hold back on guitar. I think of past concerts and wonder why he held back. His playing of the Hohner shocked me. Usually, he just plays a few funk licks and that's that. He fucking wailed on that. The most complex runs I have seen from him. His sound effects on Whole Lotta Love were up there with Hendrix/page.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

I've started a yahoo group for those in the SLC area so we can try to organize and have a meet up.

Here's the link if you'd like to join http://launch.groups.yaho...mountains/
