EYE CONTACT WITH PRINCE

Is it me or does every person who post a concert report of making eye contact with Prince no matter where they sat in the venue?

I'm guilty of the same phenom.

I'm just waiting for the "Prince performed at "such n' such" Outdoor arena and I wasn't at the concert, but the flight I was on flew over the stadium, and when Prince looked to the heavens, he noticed our plane 35,000 feet in the air and he looked and counted 12 windows from the rear, and LOOKED RIGHT AT ME!!!! I ALMOST CHOKED ON MY PEANUTS!!!!"

I know, Imma Smartass! lol
Life my azz muthafucka, dis is a bitness!!

Prince is really aware of who is out there, that's all. He looks at most of us. Big whoop! It is kind of cool when it happens though. I'm always like "Who? Me?" when he looks at me.

Prince is very good at making eye contact with the audience. He's always done it and consequently you get lots of posts on here saying "he picked me".

One night at Paisley he was working on the sound board and I was walking by. I "stole" a look at his eyes from about 10 feet away for a second too long, he "felt" my look, looked up and into my eyes like "what are YOU looking at, fool!" I couldn't look away immediately because then I would look like the fool he was accusing me of being. So I kept walking and staring into his eyes until he "gave in" and looked back down.

You have to understand, I am the straightest guy I know, but I will never forget that moment. There is something about his charisma and his sexiness that transcends gender and sexual orientation. I have never felt so stupid and blessed at the same time.

Oh, I know he made eye contact with me and my twin. We were on the floor, close, close, close, close, so close to the stage, oh and when he turned to face us, his eyes landed right on us and being that we are twins, he did a double take (like everyone else).

Dag, I wish I could go to that Boston concert! Aaugh!

And for those of you hoping to make eye contact at future concerts here's a trick that seems to work, sit near a child or bring one with you. It's obvious that Prince loves kids I watched him smiling and grooving with youngsters in the first few rows. AND YES, I do believe that is the ONLY reason Prince made eye contact with me at two Musicology concerts.

Me too!! I THINK I made eye contact with him once. I was stage left and about 10 rows back. I was looking through a pair of binaculars. When he came to that side of the stage it seems as though he looked right at me with a look on his face as if to say. . "BINACULARS!!?? You're sitting that close and you've got BINACULARS!!??" For a second I was like. . ."who. . .me????" But I didn't care. . he's my honey and I wanted to feel like I was right up on stage with him.

In my experiences, he spends 98% of the time avoiding eye contact. But during those fleeting moments, you know EXACTLY when he connects with you. It's happened twice for me, and on both occasions it was more of that raised eyebrow, contorted face thing he does - like "you again?!" - sad but true.

Really though, who would WANT to make eye contact with someone else? And exactly how do you contact another person's eye? You would have to hold back your eyelid I assume. Does it have to be eyeball to eyeball contact to qualify, or can it be one person's eyeball to any part of another person's face? Plus, isn't that how you get Pink Eye? (Or should I say Purple Eye?)

HAAHAHA!!!! lol

Well, I definitely had eye contact a few times--at the first Paisley Celebration during one of his treks across the floor by himself, I thanked him for having the Celebration, he turned, smiled and said, "You're welcome." The third Celebration he was driving the Purple Prowler right past my sister and I, so we waved and he smiled. Recently, at the Detroit concert, he made eye contact with my dad and I and got my dad onstage to dance. I've had a few others. . .

I know what you mean about the way he looks at you--you can really FEEL it. eek

He loves the kids!

Well, I am a twin (as I said before), and Prince looked our way and looked again. His eyes got so big, but it was more of a look like: what you-all doing here? Where's your maw? I may be reading too much into it, but I like to think that I can read minds (ha-ha-ha).

I know he thought we were little girls cos we look so young for our age and we knew all the words.

You just KNOW when you've got his eye. He had this smirk and my twin and I turned to face each other and my sister was digging her nails into my shoulders and we just wanted to run up to the other floor to tell our sisters. But after the show, they came over to us and said, "I know, I know" -- they heard him say, "We have some twins in the house tonight" or something like that. We were too busy screaming to hear him say it. But when our sisters told us that, we said, "We knew it. We knew he saw us!" and I am still happy and dreaming about that!

He's like a seminar leader, who gets trained to make eye contact with others.

In Landmark Education, during the Landmark Advanced Course, there's an exercise called the "being with" exercise. This happens on Sunday morning, and when the participants come in, the chairs are set up into four long rows. The course leader has them talk about their progress and a few other things, and then digs right in.

One row will get up and face the crowd. Another row about two minutes later will get up and face that row. They spend about ten minutes just being with each other, and the rule is whatever emotion that comes up they are supposed to let come up. Whether its tears, laughter, joy, whatever. Then the first row goes to sit down and another takes its place. This goes on for about an hour.

While I was doing the sound for this particular exercise (I assisted on sound during this course), one of the admin. people was in the room, and he and I caught eye contact and locked eyes for about a minute. It was the warmest moment I experienced during all of my time working at Landmark. In that moment, I saw God in his eyes. It wasn't a sexual thing at all, but there was energy there that could have easily been misconstrued as being sexual. it was more a presence/essence thing.

Oh, there I go - babbling. Hope this made sense.
