I was hoping for it at an aftershow, dammit.

I may have to fly to a different city to meet my burning desire for the aftershow experience. confused

clapping clapping clapping Whew! Now that's funny...so what was the play list? falloff falloff falloff

Same as expected, starting with Musicology then onto Lets Go Crazy. Everything stayed as I read the concert review, except no Whole Lotta Love, Why U Don't Call Me..

I was really looking forward to Whole Lotta Love being that I was too young to ever see Led Zeppelin live. Every review (around 5) have mentioned Whole Lotta Love being a great part of the concert. A psychodelic experiance. However, it seems Prince preferred to play "I could never take the place of your man" over that. Or, as I mentioned, Seattle pissed him off because they refuse to get off their asses. Honestly, I have experianced this going back 15 years. For the most part, they like to sit down and pretend they are at the movies or something.

I never really liked him doing WLL. I've seen him do it a couple of times, and it just doesn't do it for me. I am biased though, since of course nothing can top Zeppelin's version IMO. Although I can't really complain that he's giving props to them. biggrin

Oh, and if you want to see Zep live now, go get the DVD of live footage through the years that was released last year. Amazing. worship

i felt bad for the girl next to me... she was several inches shorter than i was so during the first part of the show when i was certain she couldn't see him, i switched spots with her... there were other times where i couldn't see, but i'm sure she could... it was only her 2nd concert, so i wanted to make sure she had a great time.

By the way, thanks for that. it was very nice of you biggrin

I found myself straining me neck trying to look up at the screen directly above us a bit much.
If he comes to my neck of the woods, I'm probably just going to buy tickets through ticketmaster for me and my friends, so I can guarantee that they'll be able to see the entire show.

Just be careful not to go too out of your way....he might just sit back on the 2nd keyboard. Maybe he'll take a little break from aftershows, and only do them when he actually feels like performing again - that'd be nice. That way if I ever get lucky enough to see one it'll be the REAL Prince, not the disinterested imposter I saw in MPLS and Chicago a couple months back.

I know, that's the thing. I'd have to make a trip out of it that would be otherwise worthwhile even if he didn't perform or wasn't "on" that night, just to prevent the anger and frustration I've seen when other people have based expensive travel plans on Prince and his whims. smile

I'm ready for another ONAesque tour.

There after party jams. Don't go expecting the concert you just saw. Don't you think P might be tiered after kicking ass for 2 hours. Some people are just impossible to please.
