What happened to Whole Lotta Love, Beautiful Ones, and Why U Don't Call Me? Hell, I even heard there was suppose to be a Stone's song in there.

Secondly, Seattle sucks. They sat in their seats. Damn, only reason they got up was to see over my funky dance moves. I can't blame Prince for jetting out of here as fast as he can, cause this city is Boooring!!

I was really looking forward to Whole Lotta Love being that I was too young to ever see Led Zeppelin live. Every review (around 5) have mentioned Whole Lotta Love being a great part of the concert. A psychodelic experiance. However, it seems Prince preferred to play "I could never take the place of your man" over that. Or, as I mentioned, Seattle pissed him off because they refuse to get off their asses. Honestly, I have experianced this going back 15 years. For the most part, they like to sit down and pretend they are at the movies or something.

Was also really wishing for the Beautiful Ones, but maybe that review was full of !@. And Sign O the Times.

Guess I shouldn't have read up on it, cause I was like.. What happened to this and that.

That aside, was a great concert, although nothing beats Prince coming out in an overcoat rapping in a digitalized low voice with cops trying to arrest him, i.e., Lovesexy tour Bob George.

Reno didn't sit for one minute. Actually, I don't think many cities have. What's wrong with you, Seattle?

People didn't sit much. He seemed pleased with the crowd.

But I will say that Seattle crowds OFTEN suck. We suffer from too-cool-to-dance syndrome around here, I'm afraid.

I was up in 215, row 11. That is coming close to the top (key arena is fairly small so bad seats aren't that bad).

I went for a beer before DMSR came on and got back at the end. People were sitting all the way to the 1st lvl from my side. And man, I didn't come to see Prince to sit. So, behind me up 11 or so rows everyone stood. However, Seattle was into by the time Prince pulled the middle aged white guy up on stage. This guy gets up there and I'm thinking, is he with the band? LOL. No way, he had to be a crazy fan. Then, I realize Prince let him up and is watching him get his groove on. He must of danced up there for 10 minutes!

BTW, was also waiting for Adore, which was a no show. But, was great to hear Pop Life in near full duration, Alphabet Street, ...

I think the coolest part for me was actually something people ain't talking about much. He busts out Controversy and at the end goes into prayer. Then People call me rude, I wish we were all nude I wish there was no black and white, I wish there were (was) no rules. Now, I was a little annebriated, so I don't know if he changed the words around for his faith, but for the new good boy Prince to go back to his old edgy funk was badass!

the more i think about it, this was probably the highlight of the show (for me)... the crowd went crazy when that guy was dancing ... it wasn't a choreographed moment... prince just had the guy brought up on stage because he was a great dancer (he looked like someone you'd see in a commercial for trucks or something...)

if there were people sitting then, or not dancing... then they had no excuse after that

My section stood the whole time (128). Saw some people sitting though. Honestly though, were you guys standing when Maceo did the Ray Charles tribute? Or when it was just keyboards?

Yeah, I was wondering, how good can you see when you're that close to the stage? It looked like some people couldnt see anything until he came to their side. My viewpoint maybe a little off because I didnt go down to the floor at all. But I guess if you're practically within touching distance when he comes to your side then it's all worth it!

I wouldnt consider myself a BIG time Prince fan, but I am a BIG time music fan, and the more I sit here and think about last night, Prince really is a Genius in a lot of aspects. Just an amzing artist!!

i was in section 115, 4th row - which put me directly behind John. It was a great seat at the end of a row, however John's high cymbal blocked anything going on dead center including the acoustic set. But i was right between the 2 legs off center, and was very happy with what i witnessed....

it was my first show and was amazed! if i can find a seat for tonight, i'll probably go. i thought the crowd did pretty good for seattle. it looked like everyone across from me and below were standing and dancing most of the time.

well, i stood for maceo's ray charles tribute, but then again, i'm a georgia boy, and how could i not stand for "georgia on my mind". i thought the crowd was fine, the show was quite short, but it was really good.
one thing i find that's interesting is in these days of super fast communication and internet, by the time a show comes to town, half the audience knows exactly what happened at every other show. way back when i started going to concerts you had no idea what to expect. some of that is good, some not so good. but i do see a definite curse of expectations, when you read that he did such and such the night before, and he doesn't do it folks are posting how ripped off they feel, or sort of speculating as to why this show was shorter than that one. and expectations are hard not to fall into. i used to live in atlanta, and prince always played multiple nights, long shows, and frequently did aftershows.
i have been to 2 of the musicology shows, atlanta 4/30/04 and this one. atlanta 4/30 was much longer, but i had a great time last night. it is a joy to see him play, and the band he currently has, is one of the all-time greatest bands, ever.
oh by the way, i was second row in club seats, and he spent a lot of time down the runner closest to our section, and he did not make eye contact with me, at all.

I agree that we know way too much beforehand, thanks to the Internet. I was disappointed he didn't do "The Beautiful Ones," but I had a great time, regardless, especially as it was my first Prince concert. The guy I went with had never been to a concert as a spectator, so it's pretty awesome that his first show ever was a Prince one. And he and I stood and danced the entire time - and I mean, the entire time - so not everyone in Seattle sat on their asses. I thought it sucked, though, that people were leaving to get refreshments during Renato's solo and the Ray Charles tribute. Half the arena seemed to empty out, which annoyed me. But, it was a totally rocking show, and I'm so proud to be a Prince fan, even if I'm really tempted to see the next Prince concert in Los Angeles or New York since they seem to get all the goodies there.

I don't know where you all were sitting but I was in section CC row 2 (behind Rhonda) and I didn't see any people sitting. The only time I sat was during Georgia, and that was only because I could still see Maceo and Renato. Besides, I had to rest from all that dancing. I'm not usually one to jump up and down when others do (I feel silly) but I felt it last night and bounced with the best of them.

I only hope that my tired feet and hands will have enough time to recover before tonight's show!

I personally could have done with a longer encore. My husband just looked at me and asked "is that it?" Maybe more tonight...

I thought the show was great, I took my son who is eleven, this was his first concert, he and I stood up the whole time with the exception of Maceo paying tribute to Ray Charles (that was a beautiful moment). This was my 8th time seeing Prince, while I've been lucyk enough to see him on my 30th B-day at the first celebration and then being at the famous Roseland aftershow in Portland, it was last night that I "welled" up inside when Prince did his encore of Purple Rain, my son who is just starting out on electric guitar was in awe, I'm glad i was able to share the moment with my son. Thank you Prince for a great night and for having so much fun again, I've been a fan for 24 years and I like the chant goes, "It ain't over"

Prince is the best the Seattle concert was off the chain. THe set list was amazing. I would of liked to hear some of his older stuff though. I've been a prince fan for over 20 years and I've charished them all. Thanks, Prince

Obviously, Prince deviated from this list. However, he did play "Satisfaction" during the acoustic portion of the next night's show.
