DENVER CONCERT REVIEW

Wow - I am almost speechless after last night.

One would think that after reading every review nationwide that as I attended the Denver stop of the Musicology tour I would not be incredibly surprised. Well, guess what..I was way wrong.

Prince shocked amazed and thrilled me last night with his stellar performance in Denver. My first observation is I have never heard any artist say a city and state name more than Prince did last night. You could tell he was really feeling the love last night for Denver.

It has been 6 years since he's performed here and this city ate it up. I was lucky enough to have gotten 4th row right behind John Blackwell. That man is worth the price of admission himself! My only complaint - and it is minor - is that I wonder why it is that the Purple Circle seats were not the seats I was sitting in? How can NPGMC not provide these seats to members? I was in the 4th row and there were people to the left of me and right that was in the real 4th row and we were more like 8th really. I bought my tax immediately when they went on sale and found it odd that I was not sitting in those closer seats. I wonder where I will be sitting tonight? A cool thing too was that as I was walking in to the stadium I ran into Mark Brown (no not Brown Mark) the guy who wrote the amazing article last week about Prince and I told him how thankful I was for him writing that article. He told me he even had more great tidbits but the Prince camp did not allow him to run them in his article. Even he said he was amazed at how candid Prince was with him.

Also my cousin who is an old time rock and roll guy and is a studio musician who has played guitar for 20+ years went with me and he was completely blown away by Prince's performance. He says he feels stupid now for not understanding Prince sooner and that he is a musical genius and he was just blown away by Prince on the guitar. It's always so gratifying to have someone finally "get" Prince.

The set list was similar to the ones posted here with the exception of him not playing Whole Lotta Love which was disappointing because I wanted to see that and wanted my cuz to witness it too.

The kiss medley section was way different than I anticipated and it becomes such a huge party when everyone is dancing on stage with Prince. He continues to make me smile with how much fun he has with the people on stage. There was a slightly overweight and geeky guy on stage and Prince had fun dancing with him and getting him to do some funky dance moves. The girls at the show were simply gorgeous and defiantly out numbered the guys. Another reason I've always loved Prince =)

This is the tightest band and performance I have ever seen by Prince - my 6th now and I knew going in that it would be great I just didn’t think it would be this amazing !! Thanks Prince 4 a truly beautiful night and I'm incredibly thankful to God to have the chance to do it all over again tonight...

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U
All of it. Everything. Is U.

Have you ever heard the David Spade special "Take the Hit"? lol It's pretty lame to keep calling out a city or state just to get a cheap crowd reaction.

Actually, he was here in 2002, at the Ritchie Center. Just a clarification.

The show was off the hook last night! Wish I was going tonight!

Peace!

Why do people insist on posting WRONG information? Sorry to burst both your bubbles, but the last time Prince was here was April 24th, 2001, at DU Magness Arena, aka Ritchie Center, 3 years ago.

I had front row then (thanks NPGMC) and front row last night (thanks again NPGMC). I was in Sec. EEE, Row 1, Seat 10. Great show, Prince was happy and he was ON.

Last night's show was GREAT and I can't wait for tonight!

personally I never try to get front row tixs to any concert..I got to 2-3 a year...no interest...too damn loud and too crowded and not into spending alot of money for what everyone else will see....also you're not the concert critique....2001, 6 years who cares? if it is accurate or not lol

Yeah, thanks for the acoustic set with Starfish & Coffee, A Case of U. Then... Knock On Wood (instead of "Soul Man," and the show stopping rendition of Led Zepplin's Whole Lotta Love!

Prince laid that guitar down and covered it, showing the fully packed arena, that he is the baddest guitarist... EVEEEEERRRRR!!!!!

EverlastingNow likes to tease me, cause I like to wear Superman and Batman t-shirts! I told him I was going to wear my Superman shirt for Friday nights show, and he posted that he wouldn't be sitting next to the guy in Superman Underoos.

He's got jokes, he's so funny!
