Update on Richmond show

Bad news for all of us who were planning on a Richmond, VA stop for this tour.

I was at the Landmark today (to take my kid to Sesame Street Live) and stepped into the manager's office. I asked what happened to the April 2nd date for Prince and the nice lady said "Prince just never called to confirm". I asked if there were any discussions ongoing for other dates and she said NO.

Looks like I made a poor decision to forego the DC shows and hold out for Richmond. Now my only hope is Norfolk, but don't y'all think April 11 is a little early for an outdoor show?? I mean, it was freakin' 22deg this morning!

Now SEE...

don't get me started here...

If he skips out on Richmond on this tour it'll be just like 1984...i was in college and a bunch of us went downtown and slept on the Colesium sidwalk to get tix for the Purple Rain tour. I got 3rd row center seats...

and then?

He cancelled the Richmond date.

Yep, I'm starting to have flashbacks.

Grrrrr....

THIS time I haven't purchased tickets yet...but I DID give up my HARD EARNED $100 joining NPG...NOT for the alledgedly 'exclusive' cds, but for a chance to get seats to what will probably go down as one of the coolest tours yet...

Richmond postponed? ok. I can wait.
Richmond cancelled?
lets just say those better be some damned good and damned exclusive cds that's for sure....

I'm trying to stay positive and hopeful but I can't help starting to feel all 'crystal ballish' again...

....

Cmon yall. Those dates were ALWAYS tentative. And with Prince you should know by now that "tentative" for him is more than a little disclaimer. It's REALLY not happening until it's confirmed.

oh believe me...i understand COMPLETELY that those original dates were always 'tentative'...thats not the problem.

My issue will be...'tentative' OR 'set-in-stone'...either way, my real issue will be if my town gets skipped AGAIN like it did back in 84. thats all.

whether they were 'tentative' or 'not' is really irrealevant in this case. All I'm saying is this... if my hometown is skipped on this tour I will be far less-happy than if it was not skipped. Don't you think that is a fair and honest emotion to have? I do.
