I've been to a million concerts in Boston but Prince took over this city like no other..

I have seen Springsteen at Fenway and hundreds of "classic" shows over the years, but I never have seen such a reaction from a live show as Prince brought to Boston this week. Everyone is talking about it, (mothers, kids, parents, you name it) everyone wanted to see it again and everyone thinks Prince is now a legend..

This reminds me of when "Purple Rain" took over the world in 84. Except this time there's no MTV or radio behind him. Crazy shit..

I agree. Boston was out of control this week. I have been talking to folks all over town and there is definitely only two-to-three degrees of separation for people who saw Prince this week.

I was only able to go to one show (Tuesday), but it was great. I got tickets through the NPG fan club and got front row seats! The closest I've been since the 80's. They didn't care if people worked their way to the stage back then.
We were right behind the drum set. I thought I would be watching Sheila all night eek and then John B. came out. He's great, but not Sheila.

The crowd was really into it. I lost my voice and exhausted by the end.

I agree. I saw the show on Wed night and was really close to the stage as well. The audience was comprised of mostly "adults" which was a refreshing change to me because some of the past concerts i have been to have been with my 12 year old daughter (altho I DID thoroughly enjoy PINK at the orpheum) The audience Really appreciated him and his music. I am also hoarse 2 days later. I have never had so much fun at a concert before. It was truly a wonderful experience. Before and after the concert I was at several bars and it seemed like everyone was going to the concert and were all psyched about going. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves immensly. It was great

Yeah I went last night, and being the first Prince concert I ever went to (i'm 17, I was one of the few minors there) I thought it was amazing. It was everything I expected and more. I ad to go alone because none of my friends would go because Prince is "gay" and "past his prime", etc, I heard it all, but I wanted to go so bad I didn't care if I was alone, and while I do admit it kinda sucks being alone at a concert, I still enjoyed myself. Next time someone is definetly coming with me (maybe I could convince my girlfriend to come with me next time, even though she's not a huge Prince supporter, theres still hopel lol)
