NPGMC lack of E-biz skills

Its obvious NPGMC has some serious issues on running an effective E-business. This has been evident sense the Crystal Ball fiasco.(I was a victim of the CB fiasco...$60 & still no CD and never received a refund) In my forgiving spirit, I joined NPGMC this year, knowing the potential frustration of dealing with NPG. That frustration has appeared! Trying to get tickets to the ATL pre-sale has been very exhausting & frustating.

1) No E-mail was sent notifying members that the pre-sale was postponed! ( I never received one...did you?)

2) Once changed, the pre-sale was to begin at 10am. Since the show was in Atlanta, Im sure most assumed Eastern-Standard time. About 10:20am or so, I noticed they put a CT after the 10am. Nice! Another hour wasted waiting!

3) At 10am Central-Standard time, the web site seemed "jammed" by the response! I made it as far as check-out & the final page would never load. The server was not responding!

4) Knowing the awesome reputation of Prince.org's ability to stay on top of all things Prince, I checked to see if anyone else had problems. Sure enough, in the chatroom, many were already expressing my frustration. Why can't NPGMC be more like Prince.org?

Sorry for the gripes...it seems the only to get answers in the Prince community is to come here. Thanks Prince.org for the consistent reliability!

1. As is states in the concerts section check the website as new news will be posted at any time. Do you want prince to f***ing call you when tickets are going to go on sale or what?

2. Long before the tickets went on sale. It was posted on the website that Central Time at 10:00am was when tickets were going on sale. If you think about it. Where is Prince located and why we he use a different time zone?

3. There is no reason to freak out as the tickets are not reserved seats. There is no reason for you to have to buy your tickets at 10:00am you have all day to arrange your purchase.

Stop the negativity or get of the bandwagon. No one is forcing you to support the man. He is trying to make adjustments to allow the members the best seats in the house.

Well... I don't know about anyone else, but actually, I DID receive an e-mail from NPGMC saying that the Atlanta pre-sale was postponed. I received the e-mail on Thursday night.

Im glad he is coming to California in early May. Hopefully everything will be straightened out by then. I understand the frustration because i've been there before tons of times. In the end it works out. It does say on the website that news will be updated without notice and u should check the site often. I check it everynite because i do recieve emails late at nite and in the early morning just in case. Peace everyone. Look forward to hearing about the shows.
Peace and Love!

yea!! so you couldn't log in at 10AM on the dot - big whoop! I just tried to buy tix just to test it and it's going pretty smooth now. And believe it or not - it was not sold out wink It's General Admission - take a deep breath, go get some herbal tea, come back in an hour, buy your tickets. I went to 2 soundchecks on the last leg of the tour, there was never more than 100 people there, I don't think all 500 seats or whatever in the first 15 rows are going to dissappear in the first few hours.

Stop the negativity or get of the bandwagon. No one is forcing you to support the man. He is trying to make adjustments to allow the members the best seats in the house.

Damn straight! Let's not forget what got us here in the first place - people complaining. "Hey Prince, Ticketmaster sucks!" so what does he do? Pulls tix from ticketmaster. So now ur going to say "Hey Prince, the Music Club sucks!" so what's he going to do? bye-bye music club tickets period. Back to the public sales for the lot of you!

I hope that when the tickets go on sale in your town that you don't have to go through what we've been through this morning.

1. First of all, they sent us and email stating that they would notify us when the presale would start. That's why we expected it. If Prince calls me on the phone, I certainly don't want to talk about tickets!

2. Secondly, the CT time was not posted in Atlanta until around 10:20. We are on ET time and that's what we expected it to be.

3. I hope that you don't have to stand in line. If I pay $125.00 for a concert ticket I would like to take my time and plan an enjoyable evening with my sweetie. Not rush to the venue to stand in line. Perhaps you did'nt notice there are a limited number of seats. Prince usually sells out in about 10 minutes in ATL (that's for the general public....the people that are not willing to put out the big ducks for the concert.

This is not negativity. It is fact. This is what we have experienced for the last 3 hours.

Peace out!

At the Columbus soundcheck, one of the things that Billy Sparks mentioned is that because of the premium club member fans' frustrations over getting tickets that clearly weren't the best in the house, they were looking at the possibility of NPGMC/Paisley Park simply buying a block of tickets upfront to secure the best seats in the house for the club members. He also said that using that scenario, NPGMC would have to eat the cost of any tickets not sold within that "block".

I understand that some people are frustrated, but please understand that the current process they are using is very new (to them), and is being done primarily to try to satisfy Prince's most devout fans. And needless to say, the tickets being purchased by NPGMC is not being done without financial risk. So anyway, it may take a concert or two to work out the kinks.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with constructive criticism, but I do think that fans in this case need to remember that the new process is being tried primarily to keep fans happy - and that's a good thing.

Exactly. It IS a process, and they have been getting better every time, learning from past mistakes and feedback from club members. Hold on to your wigs ppl.

If u have a problem with the way npg is run, email them!
U probably don't because u don't want to upset them...

SO STOP COMPLAINING!!!

If u don't like the way it is run CANCEL UR MEMBERSHIP!!!

It's people like u who give the rest of us fams a bad rap, I'm sorry it needs to be said.

If they ever cancel the club because of headaches and complaints, I'm going to be so pissed!

On a more positive note, u could think of a positive way to make suggestions and maybe try to be helpful instead.

I agree. There wouldn't even be an NPGMC if they didn't tryul appreciate the fams. This is why they get irritable and probably offended when peopleemail them profanity-laden emails that jsut bitch and moan. But I think they love it when they get cronstructive emails. And they do try too get things done for us.

So if you have a suggestion, email it it a nice way. You'll be amazed at what gets done.

I've found that if u r polite, intelligent and constructive, NPGMC can b quite reasonable, prompt and responsive, even if I do get more immediate info here. They actually sent me a message that said, simply, "Thanks Herb" after i voiced some well-worded frustration about my ticket purchase along with a few words of encouragement and advice. Do you know how frustrating it is 4 THEM to work 4/with that eccentric, moody, whimsical and evasive little genius?

They want your feedback, not your tantrums. It's obvious 2 me that their server was simply ill equiped 2 deal with the rabid Paisleyheads.

Anyway, there r 2 days in Atlanta next week that I'll b looking forward 2. Just don't trample my 150lb. skinny ass.

People are still talking about the CB farce. Back then it was a team of about 3 or 4 people sending out a quarter of a million CDs. That was in 1998 for lawds sake.
