Tape Recorders and Video Cam at Show

Is it ok to sneak a video cam in the show? What about a tape recorder if I slip it in my girl's bag? Will they take it?

They might try to take it (although I call that "theft"). They certainly won't let you in with a recording device if they find it.

so do u think they will be doing a thorough check? I was at the Baltimore show last year right, and i don't remember being checked except with the wand.

Yeah, I'd say they were fairly thorough for the show I went to. Signs were posted and they repeated several times that you would not be allowed in the show with a camera or a recording device.

When you consider the fact that this is the first live performance of many of the songs (and at least two that have never been released) it makes sense that they are checking things more closely.

Like someone said... I wouldn't advise it.

At the Cleveland show the NPGMC members were patted down before entering the soundcheck, so I'd be careful. If they do find it they may not let you in.

It's up to you if you want to risk getting thrown out or having the camera or film taken off you.

Is Aaron still Prince's personal bodyguard these days? Cos that guy has eyes like a hawk and can spot a camera 100 metres away!! Believe me it ain't worth the risk.

Besides you spend most of the show worrying about wether you're gonna get caught and then end up not really enjoying yourself.

they caught someone filming at an afterparty that i was at and they took his digital video camera. he was trying to talk security into giving it back to him for like a half hour. its not worth it. if you do, though, let me know. i want tapes.

Security seems to have been increased--they were doing pat-downs at the Indianapolis "One Night Alone" show, whereas they weren't even using a metal detector at the previous Indy show (1998 "Newpower Soul" tour). From what I've read, pat-downs were also being used at other stops on this tour.

The pat-downs might have something to do with the events of September 11th. My reponse?

Nope--Prince appears to have a new bodyguard, and I'm told that Aaron now runs his own private security agency.
