Alex,
I'd like to think you were right, but this guy was a loud mouth jerk. He complained loud and long about the club, about the rights that club members got and how he had gotten seats behind club members which meant the club was no big deal. Over and over he kept crowing that his being one row behind members was no big deal. It was uncomfortable. Then he demanded to know the secret password. And the guy sitting next to me actually told him. I was shocked and appalled. If this guy didn't want to pay the 100 bucks, that is his choice. But to spend the entire show loudly bad mouthing those who did seemed a little harsh. And when P came on stage he was yelling the loudest. I could only shake my head. I don't understand folk who will listen to the man's music, (to the point of behaving like a fool) and then not support his ideas and the things he is trying to do. Maybe if he weren't directly behind me I could have ignored him. If I bump into this kind of jerk again, I'm gonna have to show that I can act like a jerk as well, cause I'm not going to be subjected to that sort of abuse again. HEY -- The NPGMC is just barely a year old so of course they're still trying to work the bugs out of the system. Be patient for crying out loud. In the meantime, be grateful for what you have. This MC is the best thing Prince has come up with (besides his wonderful music of course) and I for one LOVE it. The first 17 years of being a fam, I had to be satisfied with waiting from one year to the next for his next album to come out, finding rare articles for any crumb of information on him I could get, and maybe seeing a performance on t.v. if I was lucky. Being a member of the NPGMC I get new music on a regular basis, I'm kept up to date on what's going on, and if I wanted to see a performance all I had to do was download a video. Do you realize how SPECIAL that is ?! Who else do you know of that does that much for his fams ? Last June I drove 1,500 miles to make my 1st visit to Paisley Park for the Celebration, and becuz I was a member of the Club I felt like I was treated as royalty - got in first to the Park, the after parties, the concert, and felt so "at home" due to the wonderful treatment I got, not to mention meeting fams from all over the US & world who were great. To top it off, I fulfilled a long time dream of mine - I actually got to meet Prince when he was walking around Paisley Park just like the rest of us. That was totally amazing. If you ask me, Prince could double or triple the membership fee and it'd still be worth every single penny.
It's certainly nice to get the "good" seats at the concerts, but isn't it mainly about just being there and the music ? Come on guys, put things in perspective will ya ? No, I do not have any tickets for the DC concerts. I hope to go to the Phoenix event and if I don't get "good" seats, I will still enjoy being there. It's all about the music which you will be able to hear no matter where you are sitting, right ? | |

Ok. I too was upset about the password mix up and I DID have NPG up and running while I was purchasing tix and the password did change after I already bought my tix. But you know what? I do have tickets. I'm not in the nose bleed section (for a change). I get to go to 2 DC shows. And at least I'll be with my peeps.
And yes, I believe all of those who didn't get front row seats beleived that they just umight/u have gotten better seats if they were 5 seconds earlier. It's not just the possibility that he/she/it might have gotten on stage. It's the possibility of being close to greatness. So, I'll be a little farther from greatness than I'd like, but I'll be there. 'NUF SAID. **************************************************
