Girls: Who's dressing up for Prince concert? I'm going to the August 17th concert in Boston next week. I'm not sure what to wear yet... thinking of a white pleat skirt with black lace waist band & spagetti strap tank top... either high heels black boots with opaque black tights or no tights and just high heel shoes... Would tights be too warm?
What are you gal's gonna wear to the concert?

What are you gal's gonna wear to the concert? Try and dress up like Apollonia maybe he'll notice you and ask you up on stage. I know i would , I'd also lick him from head to toe if possible . Well I think the concert ticket says " WEAR SOMETHING PURPLE " !! Well it's your call and hope you do get on stage. Well enjoy ! YOU MAKE ME WEEP I WANNA DIE
JUST WHEN YOU SAID WE TRY LOVIN', TOUCHIN', SQUEEZIN' EACH OTHER WHEN I'M ALONE ALL BY MYSELF YOU'RE OUT WITH SOME ONE ELSE LOVIN', TOUCHIN' SQUEEZIN' EACH OTHER YOU'RE TEARING ME APART EVERY, EVERY DAY YOU'RE TEARIN

I didn't realize that the tickets said wear something purple. I have a nice velvet short sleeve purple shirt I might wear. I don't however want to go onstage... I'll be there to look at Prince, not to be looked at.

Personally i was very disappointed at the last Prince concert i attended...the majority of the peopke came in everyday street clothes...so i wouldn't worry about what to wear..but i do recommend something purple..i wore a purple shirt, white pants w/Prince down the side in purple and purole shoes

At the Joe Louis show, I wore a black blazer, purple shirt, black skirt and bright purple tights. not gonna lie, i looked pretty hot. but i did notice that a lot of people didn't dress up, i was pretty bummed. but those of us that got dressed, REALLY got dressed and it was cool to see what everyone else had worn and there was that mutual respect and appreciation for people who wore their purple.

O-oh, my sister and I thought about that -- I was actually looking for a dress that looked like the one Apollonia wore in Purple Rain (when she is running out of the club during "Darling Nikki -- oh that hair!); I looked on Girl Shop (my favorite place to shop), but I couldn't find a dress with a low back like that dress. Well, I was amazed when I went to the New York show and some of the people he pulled up on stage were in jeans... I thought there was a "if you wear jeans, you can't get on stage rule." If you want to get noticed -- get dressed up as though you are the star -- I always try to do that. One time someone asked me if I was a singer. If you want to just go and have fun -- just wear whatever. The Dreaming Peasant

I wonder if the fact that the seats at the Joe were so damn filthy had anything to do with a lot of people dressing down. I couldn't believe how filthy those seats were . I had on white pants and of course they were good and dirty by the time I left. Mike Illitch needs his ass beat for that. There is no excuse for the filth.. I'm wearing hip hugger jeans, a purple halter and backless top, my purple clear heels and a purple purse....the less clothes the better and you have to dress for the season... San Diego's Finest

I was talking to a security guy @ one of the San Jose shows & he was saying they had the AC off on purpose Don't know why they like it hot but it DOES get hot up in there Just know that. I wore my hair down & thought, "NEVER AGAIN!" It was so hot I felt like a had a blanket on my head the whole show

I have had a chance to talk to the dude that picks the girls to go up on stage and he said that prince likes dress but last night in DC almost all the girls had on pants. So who knows. Just be comfortable becuase you will be up on your feet dancing all night. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

I bought my shoes today!
I'm wearing 'em with a cute purple halter top the same exact shade and a pleated denim mini-skirt. [This message was edited Sun Aug 15 14:18:20 2004 by theVelvetRoper]

When do they actually pick the people to go onstage–when everyone is at their seat? I think I know what to wear now next tuesday, either a short black front zip-up dress, very modern looking with heels or boots; or the pleated white skirt & black spagetty strap top & heels. Too bad there's no air condition, I hate rooms that are uncomfortably hot. Am I the only one who doesn't reallly care to go onstage? I guess I'm a bit shy...
