I CAUGHT PRINCE'S HAT!

I was 2nd row aisle seat at the Joe in Detroit on 7/30 and I was pretty psyched because it was the closest I've ever been in all my years of attending Prince concerts. I was dancing and having a blast when I noticed Prince reach for his hat, it never left my sight from that moment. Then he flung it. There I was in 2 1/2" wedge heels up in the air catching that hat! I wore it the rest of the concert. I continue to have a good time when Prince comes to my side of the stage to pick people to come on stage. To my astonishment and delight he looked directly at me and motioned for me to come on up! I couldn't believe it, and of course I got up there and didn't do I thing I imagined I would do if I ever made it onstage. Anyway it was one of the best times of my life esp. when he took my hand to help me up. I only wish that show was taped so I could relive that experience for a lifetime, but I'll always have the hat. Thank You NPGMC!

biggrin cool cool cool cool smile smile
That is TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!
Doesn't he look FINE in that hat?? DAMN!!!!! razz
BUT.. isn't it odd that he would throw those hats in the crowd each night and let fans keep them.... but then at the Chicago shows they took that Blanket back from the fans that caught it??
I would think the hat would be MUCH more than that blanket
But I am happy for you..... Wear it with pride..... wink

I swear, I have that exact same purple chenille blanket - it was $14.99 at Marshall's.

And April, that's awesome!!! Congratulations!

Exactly.... Why would they take THAT away from the fans who caught it?? That hat has GOT to cost most than $14.99??

I saw you there! I was soooo jealous!! pissed
It wasn't enough that you caught the hat, you also got to dance with Prince!!

BTW, you were looking good, Sister. Your outfit looked like that was YOUR hat. I told my sister that and she didn't even know it was the same person.

woot! Kudos to you!

Thanks, I'm still on an emotional high. I haven't figured out how I want to store the hat. Right now I have it stored in a hat box in my closet, but lots of people tell me to showcase it. Any suggestions?

Clear plastic box---airtight if you can manage it---with a little stand in the middle that lifts the hat off the bottom! thumbs up!
