Should I Dare?

O.K. so I've been to see Prince 2x this tour, and for me that's a lot. I am one of the poorest people in Chicago. Anyway, I was VERY dissappointed to read that Prince performed The Beautiful Ones at 2 of the 3 Chicago shows last week and I just happened to be at the 1 he did NOT perform it at. The Beautiful Ones is probably the reason I am even a Prince fan. Adore is one of the best songs in the world, but The Beautiful Ones was first and will always be a classic in my book.

So my question is: Do I dare spend another $75 dollars plus taxes and fees to see him AGAIN on Tuesday hoping that he'll play it or do I just hope it appears on 1 of the DVDs and letitgo (one of my other favorite Prince songs)?

Help me. Remember I am very poor!

I was at the show you were at...no "Beautiful Ones." To make matters worse, he's started playing "17 Days." Furthermore, Chicago didn't get any appearances from Sheila E or The Time.

There's a tiny part of me wondering if he'll blow the roof off of his final Chicago appearance and if I should suck it up and go.

Here's a possible compromise: I'm thinking about just getting balcony seats for like $49 and saving a few bucks to be there just in case...

it's not like you're going to have a bad time even if you don't get those songs you want. I mean, c'mon...it's another Prince concert! It DOES suck not to be right down front with all of the true fams, but we can get over that if it means seeing another show.

I'm seriously thinking about it...

Oh, I SOOO hope he does 17 Days! That's one of my favorites, and he didn't do it at either of the Chicago shows that I went to. I really hope he does it on Tuesday. I can't wait!!!

If you do go and you see a way too happy black haired girl with a pink flower in her hair, be sure to say hi!! biggrin

Honestly, I've seen the tour 5 times and when he plays Beautiful Ones, it really is never that impressive because it is always cut short and when he falls down it seems so staged. Doesn't mean it sucks, just makes you want a longer version. As far as the NPG seats go, the sound is hit or miss around the stage. Depends on where you sit. For example, I had 2nd row in NY facing Renato Neto the whole night. The bass sound was deafening. One night, I actually left my seat and went to the upper level and traded my club seats with someone. They were so happy and I got much better sound.

LaughinAtYall, I agree with what Kacey said. If you're not sure, just try to get some balcony seats.

Thanks you guys, but for me there is really no difference between $50 dollars and $75 dollars. I don't believe in nosebleed seats either. So if I'm going to go, I am going to do it right. I just wish I was confident that I'll hear the song.

So.....what did you do???

As he decided to not play The Beautiful Ones at his 5th Chicago show, I pray that you are at home with no regrets! smile
