Toronto Concert was Amazing!!

What can I say .... Im speechless this concert was flat out amazing !!! I am not going to get into the setlists as they have been posted before.

I was really amazed at his guitar solos in Shhh and Question of U..... I knew he was good but he just blew me away.... damn I hope he does a rock album next.

I also enjoyed the part in Telemarketer Blues where he started going on saying how he would talk with a Canadian accent pretending not to be the Prince they were asking for.... real funny.

Damn U Prince you had better not wait another 7 years till you come back to Toronto .....

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

That was a very special show - the least uptight Toronto crowd I have seen. It was louder at times than it was in Detroit in June and I always find American crowds more expressive.

Toronto got all the highlights - an extra long acoustic set.....the Question of U/The One/Fallin' medley.....full encore of the Beautiful Ones, Nothing Compares To U and a very extended Purple Rain. He went well past the supposed 11pm curfew at the ACC.

And kudo's to NPG Music Club - the ticketing system works and the yearly fee is a small price to pay for the seats you get.....

What an Amazing Show last night! The First time I have seen him do "The Beautiful Ones" in 21 years:)
The people there were just into the whole experience:) you could really feel the love.
I only wish Icould get into the show today at MUCH MUSIC(I'm not a NPGMC Member), I'm only down the street from the studios(GRRRRR), Oh Well mabey I'll go down and see what happens.
I tried to keep a mental Setlist in my head but that didn't work so if anyone has a full set list that would be great:)

All I can say is the show kicked my ass! He was amazing as always. His voice was right on and his guitar work was untouchable. He is the best!

Just got a copy of today's "Toronto SUN" news paper. The reviewer gave the show 4.5 out of 5.
The pic in the paper was from a previous show because he didn't allow photographers into the show last night sad

I called about getting a wrist band for the "Intimate and Interactive" with PRINCE today @ Much Music and as the woman on the phone said "No, No way No More" so that's that sad
I'll just have to watch it on T.V. Sunday Night.

I have to agree, the show last night in T.O. rocked. He has to be the most talented musician I have ever heard or seen. The guiter solo during The Question of U gave me goosebumps. I did not want the show to end last night. Almost makes me wish I was going back tonight. I guess I will have to settl for the intimate and interactive on Sunday night. I truly hope he doesn't retire from touring after this. Last time I saw him was at Massey Hall 2 years ago and he totally rocked there as well. Hope evyone enjoyed the show last night as much as I did.

Mike.

What intimate Sunday night are you talking about? I sure don't want to miss that. The concert was so great last night! Is there a place to look at the setlists?

Thanks smile

Me, too. Wicked show!

P.S. Technically, the venue was The Warehouse (which is attached to the Guvernment), now called "Kool Haus".

The great part of that night is how the Toronto fans sang happy B-Day to Prince that evening during the concert!

Yup...I haven't heard anyone mention 'Shhh'...he blew me away with that one also, I fell in love with the guitar part at the end, he put his whole heart into that one, felt every word, every string...I think Prince turned himself on, started grinding, had me blushing, hehe...lol!!! That's why I was saying Prince was in a 'freaky' mood that night, because I went to another show week before, and he didn't do that, but at the end of 'Shhh', Prince put his hand over his face covering his eyes, he knew he delivered...and this man sitting behind was cheering Prince on and hollered 'you ain't crying'!!! I was laughing, cause I was about to yell out, 'Prince, you freak!',wink But man, that was my favorite part, can't wait to see him again, I want to see this version again also...smile

cool

Ok,,,2 negatives about weds. nite's concert..

#1. The PAIN of having to sit through Nelly furtado. feeling ill

#2. I didnt get to hear "The beautiful ones"...OR "Adore" bawl

Other than that it was a good time..my ears are still ringing..I loved Shhhhh, & Contraversy,,
& then he started to sing SOTT..& it turned into some techno jumble,,didnt care for that.

Something tells me I should have went tues. nite instead? hmmmmm

Nelly Furtado???

Huh??

Did she open for him or something???

That is one I've bene waiting for - Prince and Nelly Furtado

She LOVES him -trust me I know I had a very long convo with her in 2001 about him and at a concert in 2002 she sang a snippet of PwerFantastic while performing live - an awesome experience
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U
All of it. Everything. Is U.

I went to the Tuesday concert. Since I'm partially blind and hearing impaired, it was kind of challenging, especially since it was my first concert since my cochlear implant surgery. I found out the device can't handle that much sound -- it was too loud for the poor thing. So I mostly enjoyed the slow numbers while the bass on uptempos gobbled up most of the juice and left very little to hear other instruments. So I'll, be looking forward to the dvd and being able to put the volume at the right level.

Visually, I had to wear strapped-on binoculars for the nearly the whole time. I was seated in the disabled section, just next to the stairs with a clear line. It helped a great deal. A woman in wheelchair on the other side of the stairs wanted my seat, and she was upset because she knew her sightline would be blocked once people would stand. Her friend asked us if we wanted to change seats, ours having the much better sightline, but I had to say no. The placed her at a better seat.

One thing I noticed was the women The last time, I was surrounded by men mostly, but this time I saw rows and rows of girls dressed to kill, and clearly having a sensuous time. No wonder Prince took so long to like monogamy.

You Know as much as I LOVED Tuesday nights show in Toronto, I just finished listening to an old(But still clear) tape I made from when I saw PRINCE on the LOVESEXY tour when he played at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, and I would have to say that he sounds like he had so much more fun back then(and the set list was A++++, included Bob Geroge, Jack U Off, I wish U heaven, When U were Mine, ), I know since then he has changed so much(Personally and Professionally) so I guess that has a lot to do with it.

Don't get me wrong, Tuesday nights show was one of the best show's I have seen in years(and I see alot of show's) but the LOVESEXY Show just had a different feel to it.
