The coolest t-shirt is also the cheapest!!

I've been trying desperately to find a picture of this thing online, with no luck. Bummer.

Anyway, at the tours the majority of the t-shirts are $35 dollars...yeah, you read that right, THIRTY-FIVE BUCKS FOR A CHEAP COTTON T-SHIRT!!! They've got some decent ones this time around, like the purple one that says Prince in the 1999 font...but shit, what kinda millionaire can afford to spend that kind of money on a t-shirt? Not me.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the "Around the World in a Day" t-shirt is only $20!! I really can't figure out why it's so much cheaper than the rest, especially considering I think it's by far the best-looking one they're selling. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's the best official Prince t-shirt I've ever seen. Of course, I think most of them are ugly. I'm not about to walk around with his mug plastered all over my chest. wink

Anyone else see or buy this t-shirt? It's white and on the front has the graphic from the Raspberry Beret single (the girl with the beret eating the apple, the clown in the background, etc.). I'm wearing it right now at work and although my friend somehow thought that the writing that says "Prince and the Revolution" on the top was jelly beans, I've also had a surprising number of compliments on it.

I wish I would have seen that one! The cheapest t-shirts I saw was a black T with the word "Prince" scripted on it for $40 (youth- size). All the others I saw were $45 and up!

This dude at the corner of the ACC was selling bootleg T-shirts for $10 (Fruit of the Loom brand). I was about to get one when the "bootleg police" came and took them away on Tuesday night.
Last night (Wednesday's show) this cat was selling Prince buttons for $2 and trucker Musicology hats for $5.00.

In the end I ended with a $25 program, the $20 guitar pick necklace and the $5 Days of Wild CD.

Sonic, that's so true!!!
The string isn't even leather. I can't even figure out go to go about fastening it..... what is that round USA thing for?
I'm going to buy same jewellery clasps at a bead store, real fasteners and some leather string. I want me a real necklace. Hopefully the guitar pick will last confused

I don't think there were any $35 t-shirts in St. Paul. One was $40 and the rest were $45 or more.

Did you buy a bootlegged t-shirt because I don't remember any for $20 (unless he has added shirts since he was here).

That was the shirt I wanted when I was at the 1st show in Chicago. I was suprised to see it there...it seem out of place with all the Musicology stuff. But it was the best one there and even better, it was cheap (compared to the other ones). I got impatient and left after waiting in line for a few minutes. But it is on NPGMC so I think I am gonna order one on there.

$40 and up??!!!! Holy schmokes!!!!

I thought $35 was insane. I guess I must be going to shows in markets that are a bit cheaper than where y'all are.....although this $20 shirt was bought at the last Chicago (well, Rosemont or wherever the hell that was) show.

No, its definitely not bootleg, I bought it right from the NPG stand inside the arena. All the employees were wearing this shirt, and like I said, it jumped out to me because a) it's a cool Prince shirt that does NOT have his big ol' head on it so i can actually wear it places and b) it was SOOOO much cheaper than all the other shirts.

And they had it in every size, so it's not like they just had a few and were marking it down or anything.

i got the raspberry beret shirt in indianapolis and it cost me $35. shrug i don't really like the shirts i got (i also got the purple 1999 shirt) - the collar/yoke/whateveryacallit is really thick and ugly. i think i'll probably wind up cutting up my $35 t-shirts, or just saving 'em in a box or something. sigh

Really, the collar on the Raspberry Beret t-shirt is thick on yours? On mine it's just your basic "Hanes" cotton t-shirt. Pretty thin, I mean it's not great material (unlike this Chicks on Speed t-shirt I got for like $3 at their site online that is made of REAL nice, soft cotton), but it'll do.

I wonder if maybe they ran out of the "originals" and these (one of the ones I bought, I mean) are official "knock-offs" or something? Because I remember the shirt from the first 4 shows I went to, but I didn't remember it being $20.....I guess because it was probably $35 too!

Are you kidding? How much do they sell them for? What's the exchange rate so I know what it would be in U.S.?

$20 is the most I will ever spend for a t-shirt, I swear to god!!!!!

Okay, I realize pretty soon I'll have to start paying more with inflation and all, but we ain't there yet, or at least *I'm* not there yet.

I Think the last time I paid anywhere near $20.00 for a concert shirt was probably when I saw PRINCE on the "Purple Rain" Tour in '83:) hehehehe

I got a lavender one that's supposed to be childrens size at Paisley for like $15. It's plenty big though, so for smaller girls/women, it's an option.

I got the Around The World In A Day shirt at MSG for $25 if I remember correctly. I was very happy to see it. I also got the purple one with the 1999 font. I really like all the shirts they're selling. When I go to the Washington, D.C. show, I'll probably buy another!

I copped the black youth shirt w/ white "Prince" across it for $35 in Detroit. Definitley one of the cheapest ones and pretty good looking (it's simple). I need to have someone pick me up a tambourine though! I could kick myself for not getting one, but I was practically broke after the shirt AND a program! sad
Run fast, jam to Prince, but stay in your lane. Peace.
