Since I'll be in the front row, I suddenly feel like I need to more carefull consider my choice of clothing. I'm torn between 2 or 3 different outfits.

While I'm happy just to be so close to the stage, it would be a dream come true to be asked to dance on stage. I'm thinking my chances might be better if I wear something a little more glamm-y. I've got a sexy little camisole that I could wear, with a nice button-up shirt over it (I'm self conscious about my arms - though they're muscular, they're my least favorite body part) or a dressy off-the-shoulder black top with rhinestones at the top.

The other thing I was thinking about is more of a political statement. Please don't judge me for this, since I respect different opinions, and I don't ever try to force my beliefs on anyone.....I'm a vegan and I'm considering wearing jeans and a 3/4 red and black baseball tee that says "vegan" on it. I know that Prince is (or was) a vegan, and I thought it would be cool to show that I respect him tremendously for that, since there's a good chance he'll see it since I'm in one of the first 2 rows. The problem with the jeans and baseball tee is that it's way casual and I feel like I might be too dressed down. I'll still be wearing a flower in my hair like I usually do, so I'll have at least one cute thing on - even though it's a small accessory.

So beliefs aside, what do you guys think I should do? I'm afraid that the security guards might be turned off by the vegan shirt and it'll totally ruin my chances.

I know it might sound silly to be so obsessed with whether or not I might get to go up there, and I'm definitely not going to be disappointed if I get looked over, but I've been fantasizing about it like crazy since the first concert I went to!

OR..... you can always call the sexy little thing that was wearing a symbol teenie tiny dress at the Cleveland show... that was nice...

You can always wear one and bring the other and do a costume change when he does and then when he sees you he'll be amazed that you both changed outfits at the same time and then He'll invite you on stage.

Now my MOTHER thinks my sister and I will be too casual for a concert in DETROIT.
I am thinking, it is a rock concert, wearing jeans and t shirt is okay, whatever you feel is ok.
Besides my jeans are purple and my t-shirt is a homemade bootleg Prince purple tshirt.

I am so nervous about the concert, you know what to wear. I haven't been to a concert in ..... years. The last one was boys 2 men and it just seemed to be more appropriate to wear something more night club dressy to that concert.

My friend just gave me a cool idea. She suggested that I wear the cami, since it's sexy and low-cut (but still tasteful), but that I should let her write "Vegans rock" in bright red lipstick on my chest. That way I'm still wearing a nice, cute outfit, and I'd get to do my whole vegan thing without being quite as "in yo face" about it; yet if anyone sees the red on my chest (including the man himself), they'll have to notice what it says. Does that sound incredibly lame? I'll probably keep my sparkly black and gold scarf around my neck until the lights go down.

If you really want to get up on stage, don't wear jeans.

I was in the 2nd row on Tuesday night, and security came up to the 2 girls in front of me, I could hear everything they were saying, he asked one of them if she wanted to go up, and gave her a wristband, and the other one was asking if she could go too, but he said No "Prince doesn't like girls in jeans, sorry".

So, it seems that wearing dressier pants or a skirt might increase your chances!

Really? I seem to remember this tall, skinny woman in jeans who was dancing on the stage at the first show that I went to. She's the only one that I remember though. Thanks for the tip!

After I overheard that I kinda looked for jeans on stage both nights, didn't see any.

I definitely appreciate that info. Looks like I've got the outfit planned - black dress pants with dark red pinstripes, a black cami with a tiny little black cardigan over it, a sparkly black and gold scarf around my neck, and a pink flower in my hair. And possibly something written on my chest.....though if Prince has a dress code, he might not be too keen on stuff like that, so I may reconsider. Damn; and this is a guy who used to perform in underwear.

I don't think it's really a "dress code", there were some girls up there dressed pretty casually - capri/khaki pants, cotton tank tops etc, apparently he just has something against jeans. Who knows. He's Prince, tomorrow he might decide that only girls in jeans can come on stage!

it is not Prince's choice who goes up. His security pick's the people. Plus on wed's night he didnt look impressed with the girls that were dancing like stipper's especally the one that was humping the mic stand

humping the mic stand? That's.....unfortunate. Damn; I was totally diggin the ladies that went up there and strutted their stuff like funky little superstars and got really into it, but it just pained me to see a couple of the women make complete asses of themselves. There were a couple of wanna-be strippers at the Chicago shows - and some that just couldn't dance.

it was really bad. I was in second row on the floor and was like um ya ok what are you girls trying to prove. alot of people were just shaking there heads in disbelief.
